The Financial Controller will manage end-to-end accounting operations, including financial reporting, cash flow management, and multi-currency transactions for international entities. They will also provide strategic commercial insights to directors and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial function across our international business, primarily supporting New Zealand and USA operations. This hands-on role is responsible for accounting operations, financial reporting, cash flow management, forecasting, multi-currency transactions, and FX management.
We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who can combine strong accounting expertise with strategic insight, proactively identify risks and opportunities, and support business growth in a fast-paced international environment.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end finance function across international entities, including New Zealand and USA operations.
Oversee accounting activities including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
Prepare management accounts, financial reports, and performance analysis.
Manage multi-currency transactions, intercompany accounting, and FX exposure.
Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections.
Monitor working capital, margins, profitability, and financial risks.
Partner with Directors and operational teams to provide commercial insights and decision support.
Work with external accountants to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and commercial information.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
Exposure to New Zealand, USA, Singapore, or other international accounting environments is highly desirable.
CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
Experience in international trading, import/export, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, international services, or fast-growing SME businesses preferred.
Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, including intercompany transactions and FX exposure.
Strong hands-on experience managing end-to-end accounting functions, including GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Proficiency in Xero accounting software and financial systems.
Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Confidence providing recommendations to business leaders.
