AI Summary

The EHS team member will coordinate and implement safety programs, ensuring site compliance with regulations and internal policies. They will also monitor safety metrics, conduct site visits, and support project teams in maintaining a proactive risk management culture.

We’re a team of friends bound together by a mission to preserve our planet for future generations through innovative energy solutions and modern infrastructure. Intersect develops, constructs, and operates the most ambitious power and data center infrastructure in the country by co-locating industrial demand with dedicated gas and renewable power generation.

Intersect was acquired by Google in March 2026 and operates as an independent subsidiary. We are developing and constructing multiple gigawatts of energy and data center projects in the U.S., enabling more data center and generation capacity to come online faster. We’re on an aggressive growth trajectory and looking for people hungry to tackle the largest energy challenges on the planet.

Location & Team Gatherings

Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office - we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team member to support the daily coordination and implementation of Intersect's safety programs. Working closely with our project teams and EPC contractors, you will help maintain a proactive safety and environmental risk management culture across our clean energy projects. This role reports to our Head of EHS and works cross-functionally with Construction, Operations, Engineering, and Development.

What You'll Do

EHS Coordination & Compliance

  • Help ensure day-to-day site compliance with local laws, regulatory agency rules, and internal company EHS policies.

  • Collect, organize, and report on company-wide EHS targets, safety metrics, and operational KPIs.

  • Assist with administrative tracking of EHS operating budgets and help compile data for project justifications.

  • Maintain the EHS training curriculum databases, track employee training records, and monitor program attendance.

  • Gather and compile monthly safety reports and metrics from our EPC partners, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Perform routine visits to construction and operating sites to observe safety practices and assist field teams.

  • Support the bid-review process by evaluating prospective contractors’ EHS history and program submissions.

  • Monitor operational compliance checklists and organize essential safety records, permits, and OSHA documents.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of experience in heavy industrial construction or energy projects (solar, wind, oil & gas).

  • ASP, CHST, or OSHA 30-Hour preferred (or willingness to obtain within 12 months).

  • Basic understanding of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident investigation support.

  • Ability to complete FEMA IS-100, 200, 700, and 800 training upon hire; exposure to ISO 14001 or 45001 standards is a plus.
