Enterprise Strategy Manager

The Enterprise Strategy team sits at the center of that transformation. We partner directly with senior leaders across the organization to shape strategic priorities, evaluate growth opportunities, assess competitive dynamics, support enterprise planning, and drive some of the company's most important decisions. Our work helps define where H&R Block will compete, how we will win, and what capabilities we must build to achieve our long-term ambitions. 

As a Manager on our Enterprise Strategy team, you will play an important role in helping define H&R Block's future. You will work on high-impact initiatives spanning corporate strategy, growth opportunities, competitive positioning, strategic planning, and transformation efforts. This role offers significant exposure to senior business leaders, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors, providing a unique opportunity to influence the direction of a market-leading company. 

Day to Day, You'll... 

• Support the ongoing development and evaluation of H&R Block's corporate strategy, helping define long-term growth priorities and strategic choices. 

• Conduct market, customer, competitive, and financial analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends impacting the business. 

• Formulate and test hypotheses related to growth strategies, market expansion, customer needs, new business models, and transformation initiatives. 

• Create data-driven recommendations, executive presentations, and strategic perspectives for senior leadership, the Executive Leadership Team, and the Board of Directors. 

• Lead and contribute to high-priority strategy projects, partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and drive outcomes. 

• Support the enterprise strategic planning process, helping align priorities, investments, key initiatives, and success metrics across the organization. 

• Facilitate executive workshops and stakeholder discussions, building alignment around critical decisions and trade-offs. 

• Analyze the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and disruptive forces shaping the future of the tax, financial services, and small business industries. 

• Support evaluation of strategic partnerships, new business initiatives, and other growth opportunities. 
• Build trusted relationships and influence leaders across functions to advance strategic priorities and drive informed decision-making. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 4-6+ years of experience or equivalent in strategy-focused management consulting, corporate strategy, business transformation, growth strategy, investment banking, private equity, or a related field 
• Proven ability to structure and solve complex, ambiguous business problems to deliver measurable business impact 
• Strong strategic, analytical, and financial modeling capabilities 
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling recommendations
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority
• Experience working with senior leaders and executive stakeholders
• Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, strong collaboration skills, a bias for action, and a track record of creating value and delivering measurable business impact 

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree

• Experience supporting executive leadership teams, Board-level discussions, or enterprise strategic planning

• Experience in financial services, consumer services, small business services, technology, retail, or other customer-centric industries

• Strong knowledge of both organic and inorganic value creation levers, and/or experience developing AI transformation strategies

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$125,500.00 - $200,800.00/Yr.
