As a Benefit Counselor, you'll play a critical role in helping employees understand and confidently select the benefits that best meet their needs. Through clear communication, patient guidance, and benefits expertise, you'll help create a positive enrollment experience that empowers employees to make informed decisions about their healthcare, financial protection, and overall well-being.
In this role, you'll support enrollment projects for a variety of employee groups while serving as a trusted resource throughout the enrollment process. You'll work closely with employees, enrollment teams, and benefit administration platforms to answer questions, resolve issues, and ensure accurate, efficient enrollments. During peak enrollment periods, flexibility to support evening and weekend schedules is essential to meeting client and employee needs.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Educate employees on available benefit plans, coverage options, eligibility requirements, and enrollment deadlines.
- Guide employees through the enrollment process using designated enrollment platforms and carrier systems.
- Answer benefit-related questions with professionalism, accuracy, and empathy to help employees make informed decisions.
- Troubleshoot enrollment issues and technical challenges to ensure a smooth enrollment experience.
- Advocate for employees by identifying concerns, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting timely resolutions.
- Maintain current knowledge of benefit plans, enrollment requirements, compliance considerations, and industry best practices.

What You Bring
Day One:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 6 months of employee benefits enrollment experience.
- Experience working with enrollment software platforms and carrier benefit systems.
- Active insurance licenses required for all states associated with assigned enrollment projects.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits, enrollment processes, coverage options, and eligibility requirements.
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to provide supportive, accurate, and professional assistance.
- Ability to troubleshoot enrollment platform issues and guide employees through system-based enrollment processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support enrollment schedules.
- Ability to work remotely while maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and productivity.
Valuable Additions:
- Experience supporting multi-state enrollment projects.
- Background assisting employees during open enrollment or benefits communication campaigns.
- Familiarity with a variety of enrollment platforms and carrier systems.
- Experience conducting virtual enrollment meetings or one-on-one employee counseling sessions.
- Additional insurance licenses beyond required project-specific states.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and create positive employee interactions in a remote environment.
