Position Summary:
The Donor Relations Officer is responsible for managing and cultivating a mid‑level/major donor portfolio to strengthen engagement, increase retention, and strategically upgrade donors to higher levels of giving. This role focuses on proactive outreach, personalized stewardship, and consistent relationship management to ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to First Liberty Institute’s mission.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a mid‑level donor portfolio through consistent outreach, stewardship, and relationship development
- Support broader development initiatives when requested
- Maintain an active portfolio of mid‑level donors, ensuring each donor receives timely, personalized outreach according to an established cadence
- Conduct regular donor touch points, including phone calls, emails, and handwritten notes to strengthen donor engagement and connection
- Thank donors promptly for their gifts through personalized acknowledgments, ensuring each donor feels appreciated and recognized.
- Identify opportunities to upgrade donors to higher giving levels through strategic cultivation, tailored messaging, and value‑aligned engagement
- Track donor interactions, stewardship activities, and portfolio movement using First Liberty’s CRM and reporting systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather impact stories, updates, and organizational news to share with donors as part of ongoing stewardship
- Maintain a deep understanding of First Liberty’s mission, programs, and casework to effectively communicate impact and inspire donor support
- Monitor donor giving patterns, retention trends, and upgrade opportunities, providing recommendations for portfolio strategy and segmentation improvements
- Support development campaigns, appeals, and initiatives by assisting with donor outreach, follow‑up, and relationship management\Set measurable goals for donor engagement, retention, and upgrades, and drive consistent implementation and follow‑through
- Maintain accurate records, pipelines, and reporting dashboards for donor activity and portfolio performance
- Participate in donor‑related events, meetings, and occasional travel as needed

Requirements:
- Must be a professing Christian
- Must agree with and sign First Liberty’s Articles of Faith
- At least 2 years of experience in a people-facing role
- Strong organizational skills
- Must possess computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft applications
- Comfortable working with or learning to work with CRM databases
- Highly developed listening and questioning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
