Discord Community Manager

Remote (UAE or Pakistan) | Full-time | Primary availability required between 12pm–10pm PST

Our client is a Series A, Silicon Valley-based Gen AI startup with 200+ employees globally, building one of the fastest-growing AI creative platforms, used by millions to create images, videos, stories, ads, and other creative work with AI. They move fast, test constantly, and scale what works.

The Role
Our client has a Discord community of 300,000+ members, currently supported by a manager and moderator team focused primarily on customer support and technical help. They're now looking for someone to focus specifically on community engagement, driving activity, participation, and culture, alongside the existing support-focused team.

What You'll Do

• Drive engagement and activity across the Discord server through weekly challenges, events, prompts, and creator activities

• Improve onboarding, participation, and retention within the community

• Build systems to reduce repetitive support questions and improve community self-service

• Create a welcoming, creative, high-quality community culture

• Answer community questions and guide users toward success

• Identify and escalate meaningful bugs, product feedback, and user pain points to product and growth teams

• Build relationships with power users, creators, and community contributors

• Coordinate moderators and establish clear moderation standards

• Maintain healthy discussions and community quality

• Improve workflows, documentation, FAQs, bots, and support systems

• Track and report on community health and engagement metrics

What We're Looking For

• Must-have: experience managing Discord communities of 30,000+ members

• Strong community instincts, you understand how internet communities work and how to build engagement loops that make people want to return and participate

• Excellent communication skills, highly online, fluent in internet culture, and able to communicate clearly and naturally with creators and users

• Builder mentality, you don't wait for instructions, you proactively create initiatives, improve systems, and experiment with new ideas

• Organized and operational, able to manage moderators, events, announcements, and feedback without things becoming chaotic

• Genuine passion for AI creativity, excited about AI-generated art, creative tools, creator ecosystems, memes, and online communities

Bonus Points

• Active user of AI image and video generation tools

• Experience with creator, gaming, or AI communities

• Familiarity with moderation bots and Discord tools

• Familiarity with growth strategies for community visibility, engagement, and acquisition through Reddit and user-generated content

• Experience using AI tools for community operations, analytics, or workflow automation
