Summary of Job Purpose:

Responsible for driving consistent execution of Sysco Warehouse Field Ops strategies, policies, programs, and procedures across Sites through field enablement, prioritization, and disciplined follow‑through to ensure Sysco’s customers are serviced in an effective and highly efficient manner. Ensures consistent implementation of Distribution Continuous Improvement Plans and develops and enforces standard processes and procedures across the network.  Works with Market Vice Presidents of Operations to ensure all processes and procedures are consistently adhered to. Provides oversight and direction to warehouse staff. Leads planning and implementation efforts for strategic warehouse initiatives. The role directs Field Ops work and partners cross‑functionally (e.g., Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Technology) to deliver measurable results.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary focus: day‑to‑day enablement execution (priorities, sequencing, focus sites, follow‑up) to drive PPLH and protect service.

USBL Sites and Sysco subsidiaries as enablement scope expands.

  • Support and oversee the execution of warehouse field ops policies, programs, and procedures; implement procedural changes at operating companies to improve warehouse productivity/efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Work with MVPOs and Site leaders to drive consistent adoption of standard processes and operating rhythms.
  • Monitor warehouse performance and activeness of daily activities to ensure established KPIs and customer/service goals are met; identify focus sites and define improvement plans.
  • Lead planning and implementation efforts for strategic warehouse initiatives; ensure field readiness and follow‑through until results are achieved.
  • Direct warehouse field ops functional teams to deliver on strategic initiatives; coordinate cross‑functional support teams as required.
  • Prepare delivery budget inputs, profit plans, and capital requests as required; evaluate metrics and adjust activities to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and field‑ready standard work for warehouse processes; plan and facilitate standardized training programs as needed.
  • Work with Safety partners to ensure associates work safely and in compliance with Sysco Safety policies; reinforce a performance culture through consistent expectations and coaching routines.
  • Maintain ongoing interaction with operations, sales, merchandising, and supply chain partners; keep communication channels open and remove barriers to execution.
  • Chairs work with functional leads such as Outbound, Slotting/Replen, Enablement Ops to lock priorities, focus sites, next actions, and completion criteria.
  • Maintains a single tracking view of active work (owned by Enablement Ops lead) and uses it to drive follow‑up and close-out.

Essential Competencies:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or multi‑site field enablement.
  • Ability to influence outcomes through MVPO/VPO and site leadership
  • Strong program execution discipline: prioritization, sequencing, follow‑up, and issue/risk management.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse systems and performance drivers (e.g., SWMS/WMS processes, labor productivity, replenishment/putaway, service risk drivers).
  • Strong communication skills across field and corporate stakeholders.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and team discussions and meetings
  • Ability to apply all relevant policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner
  • Capable of working with peers and associates from other departments, operating companies and Corporate in a proactive and constructive manner
  • Ability to work in a disciplined manner and capable of following established procedures, practices and comply with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ability to manage the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues; Demonstrates skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner.

Required Minimum Experience:

  • 8 years of experience leading warehouse operations with a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • 10 years relevant experience leading warehouse operations in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience:

  • 15 years leading warehouse operations
  • 10 years leading multi-site operations
