RUM Group Inc. is seeking a Director, Tax & Treasury to lead the Company’s tax strategy, tax compliance and reporting, cash management, banking relationships, liquidity planning, and treasury operations. This role will partner closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Finance leadership, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Human Resources, and external advisors to protect the Company’s financial position, maintain compliance across relevant jurisdictions, optimize cash deployment, and support strategic initiatives including acquisitions, financing activities, and international expansion.
This is a senior finance leadership role for a commercially minded professional who can combine strong technical tax and treasury expertise with disciplined risk management and practical business judgment. You will lead the planning and execution of tax and treasury activities across a growing, multi-entity business, translating complex issues involving tax exposure, liquidity, debt, banking, foreign exchange, and capital deployment into clear recommendations for executive leadership. The role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and may lead tax and/or treasury team members as the function grows.
The ideal candidate brings experience in corporate tax, treasury, public accounting, corporate finance, or a combination of related disciplines. You should be comfortable working across a complex operating environment, managing external advisors and banking partners, improving financial processes and controls, and balancing compliance requirements with the Company’s growth, financing, infrastructure, and international business priorities. Treasury leaders commonly own cash positioning, liquidity forecasting, working-capital optimization, banking relationships, and financial risk management; this role combines those responsibilities with company-wide tax leadership.
Lead the Company’s overall tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operating footprint, capital structure, financing activities, and growth plans. Oversee federal, state/provincial, local, and international tax compliance, including income tax, indirect tax, payroll-related tax, sales and use tax, VAT/GST/HST, property tax, and other applicable filings. Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns, extensions, estimated payments, tax elections, and related documentation. Direct the quarterly and annual income tax provision process, including deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, effective tax rate analysis, and financial-statement disclosures, as applicable.
Maintain strong internal controls over tax reporting, tax payments, supporting documentation, and compliance activities. Monitor tax legislation, regulatory requirements, and tax authority guidance; assess potential impact and provide proactive recommendations to leadership. Lead tax audits, examinations, notices, appeals, and controversy matters, coordinating effectively with external advisors and tax authorities. Identify and implement appropriate opportunities for tax efficiency, credits, incentives, deductions, and other tax-planning initiatives. Support tax due diligence, transaction structuring, purchase accounting, integration planning, and post-acquisition tax matters for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financing activities, and other corporate transactions. Manage relationships with external tax advisors, ensuring high-quality work product, effective service levels, and disciplined professional-fee spend.
Lead daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, cash forecasting, banking administration, payment controls, and short-term investment activity. Develop and maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts in partnership with FP&A, Accounting, and business leaders to support liquidity planning, capital allocation, and executive decision-making. Optimize working capital, cash conversion, intercompany funding, cash concentration, and related processes across the organization. Manage banking relationships, including account structures, authorized signatories, online-banking access, service agreements, fees, and performance reviews.
Oversee debt, credit facilities, letters of credit, guarantees, and other financing arrangements, including compliance with covenants, reporting requirements, and lender obligations. Evaluate and manage relevant financial risks, including interest-rate, foreign-exchange, counterparty, liquidity, and investment exposure. Establish and maintain treasury policies, procedures, delegations of authority, and internal-control frameworks that safeguard Company assets and mitigate fraud risk. Lead initiatives to enhance treasury systems, payment processes, cash visibility, automation, and reporting capabilities. Provide regular reporting and analysis to executive leadership regarding liquidity, debt, financial risk, banking activity, working capital, and treasury performance.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO on tax exposure, treasury risk, cash deployment, financing, capital allocation, and other high-impact financial decisions. Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate recording and reporting of tax, cash, debt, investment, and foreign-currency-related transactions. Collaborate with Legal on corporate structuring, contracts, financing documentation, tax disputes, regulatory matters, and transaction execution. Partner with Human Resources and Payroll on employment-tax compliance, equity-compensation taxation, expatriate or cross-border employee matters, and related reporting obligations. Support Board, Audit Committee, and executive-level reporting through clear, decision-useful materials on tax, liquidity, financing, and financial risk.
Lead, develop, and mentor tax and/or treasury team members, creating clear accountability, strong technical capability, and a service-oriented operating culture. Manage external advisors, banking partners, consultants, and other third parties to ensure effective delivery, cost discipline, and alignment with organizational priorities. Work collaboratively across Finance, Legal, Human Resources, Operations, and executive leadership to build scalable, well-controlled tax and treasury capabilities that support the Company’s continued growth.
