We’re looking for a driven, strategic leader to join our team. The Director, Strategy – Ontada is responsible for building and supporting business cases to drive growth initiatives in close collaboration with the Chief Growth Officer and in alignment with O&M and S&T’s leadership.

The Director will partner closely with cross functional stakeholders and business leaders within Ontada and across McKesson and have a relentless focus on outcomes and the creation of value to both Ontada and O&M through the successful execution of strategies. Specifically, the Director will support the execution of Ontada’s ophthalmology and multi-specialty programs, working cross functionally to drive accountability, measuring success and achieving financial goals. The Director will be highly involved in crafting M&A and partnership business cases, working closely with McKesson’s Corporate Development, CSBD and other groups to measure Ontada’s synergies and value. She’ll also build business cases for key organic initiatives and programs, working across Ontada and McKesson to inform the strategic rationale, model financials, make a recommendation and present to senior leadership

Key Responsibilities

• Guide the execution of Ontada’s ophthalmology and multi-specialty programs, working cross functionally to drive accountability, measure success and drive an impact
• Support inorganic initiatives (partnerships, M&A) in close alignment with the VP, Strategy and Chief Growth Officer
• Build and inform business cases with specific focus on crafting the strategic rational, leading financial modeling and defining clear governance mechanisms that enable success.
• Build business case for key organic initiatives and programs, working across Ontada and McKesson to inform the strategic rationale, model financials, make a recommendation and present to senior leadership

Minimum Requirement

• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
  

Education

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in healthcare/business or related field or equivalent experience
• MBA or Advanced Degree preferred

Critical Skills

• 7+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, healthcare data, operations, business development, M&A, or partnerships focused roles in the healthcare industry
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations
• Understanding of biopharma discovery and clinical through commercialization process, provider workflows, and tech innovation
• Experience leading data driven business models
• Experience putting together business cases, including defining the strategic rationale and holding the financial model.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

• Industry knowledge – healthcare, biopharma, and oncology.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make connections across workstreams and matrixed organizations
• Ability to generate and execute creative ideas related to making communications engaging and distinctive
• Curious, analytical, and confident, with a natural drive to exceed immediate project requirements.
• A genuine passion for execution, combined with relationship-building, leadership, and communication skills will be key to success.
• This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, innovation, execution orientation, and relentless focus on shaping and delivering meaningful and tangible value for the business

Business Financial Acumen

• Understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning
• Superior project management skills with demonstrated experience successfully managing a cross-functional or cross-departmental team on a complex project
• Strong relationship cultivation & commercial insight.
• Impeccable integrity and ethics combined with outstanding judgment and inter-personal skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Able to communicate effectively and concisely with executives.

Working Conditions

• Occasional travel, around 5-10%.
