The Director of Strategic Services will oversee business and administrative operations to improve efficiency and drive growth. They will lead cross-functional teams, manage key customer relationships, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
North American Rail Solutions (NARS) is seeking a Director of Strategic Services to lead the day-to-day activities of the rail services department. This is a senior-level leader that handles in all aspects of organization, productivity, and effectiveness of sales, administrative, and operational functions. Successful candidates possess operational expertise and the ability to lead their teams to profitability and positive key performance metrics.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees the business and administrative operations and improves operating procedures for optimal efficiency
Coordinate efforts of multiple stakeholders in the creation of work products and the implementation of margin improvement strategies
Developing and executing new growth directives, maintaining key customer relationships, and participating in the sales process within assigned region.
Ensuring and supporting sites are conducting their work in a safe, efficient, and responsible manner in compliance with federal, local, and company guidelines.
Communicates regularly with staff and participates in leadership meetings and training courses
Ensures compliance with company standards and FRA regulations.
Assessing and enhancing the efficiency of internal and external operational processes
Decision maker for long-term operational infrastructure, process, and procedure to support growth goals and financial targets
Builds strong relationships with the team, serves as trusted and confidential advisor to the c-suite and senior business leaders, while motivating staff to achieve sales and organizational objectives
Metrics and data-driven executive that evaluates the company performance, forecasts future improvements, and recommends strategies to improve results
Collaborates with management and stakeholders to raise capital and carry out other business-expanding strategies
Evaluates operational performance results against organizational goals.
Hire and develop operational staff, providing training and mentoring of other members of the team.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations

Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management
MBA, preferred
Lean Six Sigma certification, preferred
Work Experience Required:
5+ years business experience in a senior operational role
Knowledge of rail maintenance and/or commercial construction operations
Skills & Knowledge Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced leadership and organizational skills
Strategic planning and business development
Experience in budgeting and P&L management
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with teams and implement changes
Ability to work in fluid environments, highly flexible and able to set/adjust priorities with market needs.
