JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for the oversight and strategic leadership of all end-to-end revenue cycle functions, including financial clearance, payer enrollment & credentialing, charge capture, coding, billing, collections, cash management, accounts receivable management, denial management, and revenue integrity. This role ensures seamless integration and optimal performance of all revenue cycle operations by leading managers, supervisors, and frontline staff. The Director will analyze data, develop and implement policies, collaborate across departments, and drive process improvements to maximize cash flow, ensure compliance, and support organizational goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the entire revenue cycle, including pa (authorization, referrals, insurance verification), charge capture and reconciliation, coding, billing, cash management (payment posting, credit balance management), accounts receivable (insurance and patient billing, follow-up, denial management), and revenue integrity.
  • Oversee daily operations and performance of all revenue cycle teams, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of patient billing and claims, and maximizing collections and cash flow.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data, develop and present reports, and identify trends and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Identify and execute strategies for continuous process improvement across all revenue cycle functions, including workflow optimization, technology adoption, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain revenue cycle policies and procedures; ensure staff are trained and compliant with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop revenue cycle managers, supervisors, and staff; conduct performance evaluations and support professional development.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing and claims submission, and oversee denial management and appeals processes to minimize revenue leakage.
  • Monitor and report on cash flow, key performance indicators, and outstanding accounts receivable; provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with clinical, financial, and IT departments to optimize revenue cycle processes and support organizational objectives.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions to enhance revenue cycle performance, data accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
  • Resolve complex issues using strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and payer requirements.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to do excessive walking, standing, bending and stooping.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or control, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, kneel and crouch.
 
The employee may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (50-90 pounds).  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee will be required to work in an office environment or remotely as need. Ability to travel between locations may be necessary.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position.  Typical days and hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. This position is full-time remote.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or
  • Equivalent healthcare revenue cycle experience in a leadership role (minimum of 5 years)
