Makse Group is seeking an experienced Director of Workday HCM Consulting with at least 10 years of direct Workday HCM experience. This leader will oversee the HCM practice across implementations, optimizations, and AMS engagements, with responsibility for functional quality, resource planning, team performance, and client satisfaction. The Director will develop and mentor HCM leaders and consultants, support complex client needs and escalations, and partner with PMO, Sales, Recruiting, and executive leadership to ensure engagements are properly scoped, staffed, and supported.

Practice and Delivery Leadership

• Lead Makse Group’s Workday HCM practice across implementations, optimizations, and AMS engagements.
• Maintain accountability for delivery quality, client satisfaction, project performance, and adherence to Makse Group and Workday standards.
• Oversee the HCM project portfolio, proactively addressing delivery risks, scope concerns, financial issues, and client escalations.
• Serve as the executive sponsor for strategic and high-risk engagements.
• Establish consistent delivery standards, governance, and quality controls across the practice.
  

Resource and Team Leadership

• Own resource planning, capacity, utilization, and staffing across HCM engagements.
• Assign resources based on project needs, consultant experience, certifications, and availability.
• Partner with Recruiting to anticipate hiring needs based on project demand and the sales pipeline.
• Lead, coach, and develop HCM managers, architects, leads, and consultants.
• Set clear performance expectations and address performance or delivery concerns promptly.
  

Implementation and AMS Oversight

• Provide leadership throughout the full Workday implementation lifecycle and transition to post-production support.
• Oversee AMS delivery, including service quality, staffing, client priorities, backlog management, and service-level commitments.
• Support teams in resolving complex delivery issues, production concerns, and client escalations.
• Drive continuous improvement, optimization, and increased Workday adoption for clients.
  

Financial and Client Management

• Maintain accountability for practice and engagement financial performance, including revenue, margins, budgets, forecasts, and utilization.
• Ensure staffing, scope, change requests, and delivery decisions support engagement profitability.
• Build strong relationships with client executives and senior stakeholders.
• Support solution development, estimates, proposals, staffing plans, and statements of work.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and Workday services.
  

Requirements

• 10+ years of direct Workday HCM consulting experience; experience with other ERP or HCM platforms will not substitute for this requirement.
• Extensive experience leading full-cycle Workday HCM implementations, optimization projects, and AMS engagements.
• 6+ years of experience leading Workday consulting teams, including managers, architects, functional leads, and consultants.
• Current or previous Workday HCM certifications required.
• Experience working for a Workday Services Partner strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
