About the Role

Bask & Lather is seeking a highly proactive, hands-on strategic leader to serve as Director of Supply Chain.

The Director of Supply Chain owns the company's end-to-end upstream supply chain across demand and supply planning, procurement, contract manufacturing, inventory, supplier management, production, cost optimization, and supply readiness. This role is responsible for building a scalable supply-chain infrastructure capable of supporting a fast-growth, omnichannel consumer business across DTC, Amazon, retail, wholesale, and international markets.


Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Supply Chain Strategy

  • Own and continuously improve Bask & Lather's end-to-end supply-chain strategy across sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, and distribution.
  • Develop the supply-chain infrastructure required to support rapid domestic and international growth.
  • Own manufacturing and supplier network strategy, including single-source versus dual-source decisions.
  • Identify and eliminate single points of failure across critical manufacturers, suppliers, raw materials, components, and packaging.
  • Own manufacturing footprint and make-versus-buy strategy.

Demand Planning & Supply Planning

  • Own the consensus demand plan and supply plan across DTC, Amazon FBA/FBM, retail, wholesale, and international channels.
  • Translate commercial forecasts into SKU-level production, procurement, inventory, and capacity requirements.
  • Lead the S&OP process and ensure alignment across Sales, E-Commerce, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Operations.

Procurement & Purchase Order Governance

  • Own procurement governance across finished goods, raw materials, components, and packaging.
  • Ensure purchase orders are issued accurately and in accordance with approved demand and inventory plans.
  • Own open-PO management, including quantity, cost, delivery date, payment status, and outstanding commitments.
  • Establish clear approval controls and processes for purchase commitments.
  • Monitor production and delivery against purchase orders and proactively escalate variances.

Manufacturing & Vendor Management

  • Lead contract manufacturer and supplier selection, onboarding, negotiation, and performance management.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, MOQs, payment terms, capacity reservations, and other commercial terms.
  • Build strategic relationships with domestic and international manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Establish vendor scorecards and conduct regular supplier performance reviews and QBRs.

Inventory Health, Accuracy & Working Capital

  • Own inventory strategy across all SKUs, channels, and inventory locations.
  • Establish inventory policies by SKU tier and channel.
  • Own inventory turns, days/weeks of cover, safety stock, aged inventory, excess inventory, and obsolescence prevention.
  • Own operational inventory accuracy across the ERP, warehouses, 3PLs, contract manufacturers, and other inventory locations.
  • Partner with Finance to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

COGS & Supply-Chain Cost Optimization

  • Own continuous supply-chain cost improvement across manufacturing, raw materials, components, packaging, freight, and other upstream costs.
  • Maintain accurate visibility into current and projected product costs.
  • Identify and execute COGS reduction opportunities without compromising product quality, consumer experience, or service levels.
  • Lead vendor cost negotiations and evaluate alternative sourcing opportunities.

Retail Supply Chain & Replenishment

  • Own supply-chain readiness for major retail partners.
  • Translate retailer forecasts, POs, replenishment expectations, and promotional plans into supply requirements.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory and production capacity exist to support retail launches and replenishment.
  • Own supply-chain performance against retailer OTIF, fill-rate, routing, case-pack, labeling, and compliance requirements.

New Product Development & Launch Readiness

  • Own supply-chain readiness for all new product launches.
  • Build supply timelines backward from required launch dates.
  • Ensure raw materials, components, packaging, labels, manufacturing capacity, finished goods, and replenishment plans are secured in advance of launch.
  • Establish critical-path milestones and identify supply-chain dependencies early in the development process

International Expansion

  • Lead supply-chain readiness for international expansion, including the UK, Canada, EU, and future markets.
  • Develop regional inventory and replenishment strategies.
  • Partner with Regulatory and other internal teams to ensure packaging, labeling, product, and compliance requirements are incorporated into supply planning.
  • Develop international lead-time, freight, inventory, and capacity models.

Systems, Data & Process Ownership

  • Own supply-chain master-data integrity and planning discipline.
  • Ensure SKU, vendor, BOM/component, MOQ, lead-time, cost, supplier, and inventory data are accurate and current within company systems.
  • Partner cross-functionally on ERP implementation, optimization, and adoption.
  • Establish scalable supply-chain processes, documentation, controls, and reporting.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, manage, and develop a high-performing supply-chain organization.
  • Directly manage Supply Chain Managers, Demand Planners, Planning Analysts, and other supply-chain resources as applicable.
  • Establish clear roles, decision rights, accountability, KPIs, and performance expectations.
  • Develop team members and build appropriate succession and cross-training within the function.
  • Identify organizational gaps and recommend future hires, systems, or resources required to support company growth.

Operating Cadence & Executive Communication

  • Lead monthly supply-chain business reviews.
  • Conduct recurring vendor performance reviews and QBRs.
  • Deliver concise executive reporting on inventory, production, capacity, risks, working capital, and mitigation plans.
  • Escalate material risks early, with clear business impact, options, recommendations, and required decisions.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive supply-chain experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility within a fast-growth CPG organization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling supply-chain infrastructure in a rapidly growing business.
  • Deep hands-on experience across demand planning, supply planning, procurement, contract manufacturing, inventory management, and supplier management.
  • Experience supporting omnichannel businesses across DTC, retail, wholesale, and Amazon FBA/FBM.
  • Strong experience with major retail supply-chain requirements, replenishment, OTIF, and inventory planning.
  • Strong contract-manufacturing and supplier-negotiation experience.
  • Experience managing domestic and international supply chains.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage inventory and working capital in a high-growth environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of COGS, inventory cash requirements, margin, and working-capital implications.
  • Experience working within ERP and planning systems and maintaining strong supply-chain data discipline.

Preferred Experience

  • Beauty, haircare, personal care, or other high-growth consumer products.
  • Experience scaling a digitally native consumer brand into major brick-and-mortar retail.
  • Experience supporting nine-figure or rapidly scaling consumer businesses.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms.
  • Experience implementing or significantly improving demand-planning and supply-planning systems
