AI Summary

The Director of Marketing will own the full marketing function, including brand and growth strategy, paid acquisition, and automated communications. They are responsible for scaling lead volume and quality while building strong internal partnerships to support organizational growth.
Meet True Vet
At True Vet Solutions, we believe no veteran should have to fight alone for what they already earned.
Every day in America, veterans walk away from disability benefits they qualify for, not because they don't deserve them, but because the system meant to serve them is slow, confusing, and built to wear people down. We exist to change that. We stand between the veteran and the system, and we do not stop until they receive every benefit they earned.
We are a team of high-empathy, high-standards people doing work that actually matters. We answer the call when someone who served is at the end of their rope, and we turn it into an outcome that changes their life. The proof is in what our clients live:
  • Tens of thousands of veterans represented
  • $350M+ in lifetime benefits secured for the people who served
  • 4.9-star client rating across 634 reviews
Where we're going.  We are not building a small shop that helps a few hundred veterans a year. There are millions of veterans in this country leaving earned benefits on the table, and we intend to reach them. We are building the most trusted veteran advocacy organization in America, and we are building it fast. If you are looking for a ceiling, this is the wrong place. If you are looking for a mission big enough to spend a career on, and a company moving fast enough for you to grow into the leader you're capable of becoming, keep reading.
The mission of this role
The Director of Marketing owns how True Vet Solutions is found, understood, and trusted by veterans nationwide. This is a builder role, not a caretaker role. You will own the full marketing function: brand and growth strategy, paid acquisition performance, strategic partnerships with the organizations and venues we work alongside, social media, owned content including our podcast, and the automated communications that carry a veteran through our process from first contact to final outcome.
You will report directly to the Executive Manager of Revenue and lead the social media team. You will be accountable for lead volume and lead quality, measured against a company objective of scaling from roughly 450 to 500 approved packets per month today to 1,000 per month by 2027.
This role requires someone who can set strategy and then execute it personally. We are a lean organization. The Director of Marketing is expected to be capable in the tools, hands-on when the work requires it, and fully accountable for delivery.
Marketing is being built from the ground up. Today, many of the tools, resources, and relationships that drive growth are owned by other teams rather than Marketing.
Because of that, success in this role depends on more than marketing expertise. You must be able to build trust, develop strong internal partnerships, and earn credibility across the organization. Your access to resources and your ability to execute will depend heavily on those relationships.
This is a role for someone who can influence, collaborate, and bring people together. The right person will help build not only our marketing function, but also the internal support needed to make it successful.
What success looks like
First 60 Days
  • Learn the business. You understand the complete TVS process end to end, from first veteran contact through packet submission, approval, billing, and continued advocacy, well enough to represent it accurately in any channel.
  • Take ownership of paid media. Full visibility into current paid media performance, including spend, cost per lead, and conversion by channel, with a documented plan for what changes.
  • Establish the attribution baseline. You have assessed what our current lead attribution actually tells us, identified where it breaks, and delivered a plan for what needs to be built to make channel spend decisions on real data.
  • Earn internal access. You have built working relationships with the department heads and system owners whose tools and relationships marketing depends on, and you have a clear, agreed path to the access marketing needs.
  • Audit the funnel. Every automated email sequence has been audited and a rewrite plan is in place, with sequences that no longer reflect our process or our voice corrected first.
  • Stabilize the team. The social media team has a content calendar, a working cadence, and clear accountability.
What you'll own
Brand and Growth Strategy
  • Own the marketing strategy that supports company growth objectives, including national reach and expansion into high-value veteran markets.
  • Build and manage the marketing budget, with spend allocated against measured return rather than habit.
  • Identify and test new acquisition channels, and shut down what does not perform.
  • Protect and strengthen the True Vet Solutions brand and voice across every channel and every piece of collateral.
Paid Media and Acquisition
  • Own accountability for all paid acquisition performance, including Facebook, Google, and any additional channel, whether executed in house or through a vendor.
  • Set targets for spend, cost per qualified lead, and conversion, and report against them weekly.
  • Manage the outside paid media vendor to defined targets and a defined reporting cadence, and lead the transition of paid media in house as spend and structure justify it.
  • Ensure paid campaign tracking, pixels, and conversion events are properly configured and reporting accurately.
Partnership and Event Marketing Support
The advocates team owns the venue, event, and partner relationships. Marketing does not work those deals. Your job is to make them succeed on the marketing side and to give the relationship owners something worth bringing to the table.
  • Partner with the advocates and relationship owners to define what social media and co-marketing we want from each venue or partner, and give them the clear, specific ask they can put in front of that partner.
  • Build the branding angle that ties each partnership together and makes our presence make sense to the partner, their audience, and ours.
  • Produce the content when it is needed, including social assets, co-branded material, and messaging the partner can post under their own name.
  • Support event strategy with pre-event targeting and audience development so our advocates arrive at a warmed market rather than a cold one.
  • Give the relationship owners the reporting they need to show partners the relationship is working, and track marketing return on events in leads and packets.
Attribution, Tracking, and Reporting
Marketing spend decisions at TVS are made on data, not on impression. Knowing which channel produced a lead, and what that lead was worth, is a core requirement of this role.
  • Define the lead source and attribution standard for every channel, including paid search, paid social, organic social, podcast, email, events, referrals, partner-driven traffic, and direct.
  • Work with IT and the CRM owners to get that tracking built and maintained correctly, including source tagging, campaign parameters, form and landing page routing, and conversion events. Marketing does not own the CRM, so this requires partnership rather than instruction.
  • Ensure every lead entering the system carries an accurate source, and audit regularly for gaps, misattribution, and unattributed traffic.
  • Report performance by channel, comparing volume, quality, cost, and conversion through to submitted and approved packets rather than stopping at the lead.
  • Use that data to reallocate budget. Channels that produce qualified leads at an acceptable cost get more. Channels that do not get cut or fixed.
  • Flag where attribution is incomplete or unreliable and propose what it would take to close the gap, rather than reporting numbers you know to be wrong.
Lifecycle and Automated Communications
  • Own every automated communication a veteran receives, and keep it accurate to the current process, in our voice, and genuinely useful.
  • Rebuild and maintain email sequences and funnels in our CRM and marketing platforms, working with IT on the technical requirements.
  • Ensure automated communication never reads as automated. Every message should feel like it was written by someone who knows this veteran and cares about the outcome.
  • Monitor performance by sequence and improve on the numbers, not on preference.
Social Media and Content
  • Lead the social media team, set the content strategy, and hold the calendar and the cadence.
  • Grow engagement and audience across platforms, with content built for veterans rather than for the industry.
  • Manage community engagement and response standards, including how we handle public questions and public criticism.
  • Develop the content library that supports paid acquisition, partnerships, and events.
Podcast and Owned Media
  • Own the podcast end to end: format, guests, production standard, publishing schedule, and distribution.
  • Hold a professional standard for what ships and keep the schedule without exception.
  • Use owned media to build authority with veterans, partners, and referral sources.
Leadership and Reporting
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable the social media team and any future marketing hires.
  • Earn and maintain the trust of the departments and system owners marketing depends on, particularly IT, Intake, Billing, and the advocates team. Marketing does not yet own its own tools or relationships, so the access required to do this job is earned through credibility, not granted by title.
  • Report marketing performance on a set cadence, in numbers, with a clear read on what is working and what is being changed.
  • Raise obstacles early and with a proposed solution.

Requirements
  • Five or more years in marketing, with at least two years leading a function or a team.
  • Demonstrated ownership of paid acquisition performance on Facebook and Google, with the ability to build campaigns, read attribution data, and hold a vendor accountable to targets.
  • Hands-on capability in marketing automation and CRM platforms. Experience with GoHighLevel, Keap, Zoho, or comparable systems is required, and you must be able to build in them yourself.
  • Demonstrated experience administering and managing Google's business and marketing platforms, including Google Ads, Google Business Profile, Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Must have hands-on experience creating and managing user access, assigning permissions and ownership roles, implementing security and governance best practices, associating Microsoft 365 business email accounts with Google services, troubleshooting account access issues, and maintaining proper account structure across multiple users, locations, and business assets.
  • Working command of lead attribution: source tagging, campaign parameters, conversion tracking, and multi-channel reporting. You should be able to explain how you have tied revenue back to channel in a previous role, and what you did when the data was incomplete.
  • A track record of building partnerships or business relationships that produced measurable results.
  • Strong writing. This role writes and edits what veterans read.
  • Evidence of personally delivering the work, not only directing it. We will ask for specific examples of what you built and shipped.
  • Professional, direct, and collaborative communication with colleagues at every level.
  • A demonstrated ability to build trust and earn cooperation from people who do not report to you, and to get resources and access through relationships rather than authority.
  • Experience marketing to veterans, military families, or in healthcare, benefits, legal services, or another regulated and trust-driven category. (Preferred)
  • Podcast or video production experience. (Preferred)
  • Event marketing and field marketing experience. (Preferred)
  • Personal connection to the veteran community. (Preferred)

Our Core Values
Our values are the heart of this company. The right person for any role here recognizes themselves in each of them.
Empathy, Without Exception.  Every veteran is a person who served, not a case number. We lead with understanding and we hold that standard on the hardest days, in the longest calls, with the most frustrated client. Empathy is the one thing we will never trade away.
Remarkable Character.  We do right by veterans when no one is watching. We tell each other hard truths with care, accept them with humility, and keep our words and our actions pointed at the same goal.
Relentless Advocacy.  We fight for every benefit a veteran earned, and we do not quit when the system pushes back. It is us against the issue, never us against the veteran, and never each other.
Competitive Greatness.  We hold ourselves to an elite standard because the people who served deserve elite representation. We compound small improvements into outsized results, and we build each other into leaders along the way.
