SGS North America is seeking a visionary, data‑driven Senior Director of Digital Marketing to lead the strategy, execution, and performance of our digital ecosystem. This role will own the full digital demand engine - including website, SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media - and will play a critical role in elevating SGS’s digital presence, accelerating lead generation, and strengthening brand visibility across diverse B2B industries.  As the front‑end leader of our digital demand engine, this role will work in lockstep with the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Performance, who oversees the back‑end systems, analytics, and operational infrastructure that power marketing effectiveness. Together, these roles will create a seamless, insight‑driven engine, where digital strategy, execution, data, and performance optimization operate as one, to support complex, multi‑industry growth across North America.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned to SGS North America’s growth priorities
  • Lead the evolution of SGS’s digital ecosystem, ensuring a modern, user centric, high performing web experience.
  • Partner closely with the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Performance to align digital strategy with analytics, attribution, and performance insights.   
  • Own the SGS North America website strategy, roadmap, UX, content architecture, and ongoing optimization.  
  • Drive continuous improvement in site performance, conversion paths, SEO health, and digital accessibility.  
  • Oversee web governance, content standards, and cross business line alignment.        
  • Lead SEO strategy across technical, on page, and content optimization. 
  • Establish scalable SEO practices that improve visibility, authority, and organic lead generation.
  • Partner with content teams to ensure SEO driven content planning and execution.        
  • Own paid search and paid media strategy, budget allocation, and performance optimization.         
  • Drive measurable ROI through targeted PPC campaigns, retargeting, and digital advertising programs.     
  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations & Performance to ensure accurate attribution and reporting.           
  • Lead email marketing strategy, including nurture programs, segmentation, and personalization.     
  • Ensure alignment with marketing automation workflows and CRM integrations managed by Marketing Operations.
  • Optimize email performance through testing, analytics, and continuous improvement.   
  • Oversee SGS North America’s social media strategy, content, and channel performance.   
  • Strengthen brand presence, engagement, and thought leadership across platforms.        
  • Ensure alignment with global brand standards and regional business priorities.          
  • Partner with business line leaders, sales, global digital teams, and regional marketing teams to ensure digital initiatives support commercial goals.    
  • Work hand in hand with the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Performance to build integrated campaign frameworks, dashboards, and performance insights.   
  • Collaborate with IT and external partners to ensure digital platforms are secure, scalable, and optimized.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.   
  • Master’s degree (MBA or Marketing/Analytics focus) strongly preferred.  
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, with deep expertise across website management, SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media.    
  • Proven experience leading digital strategy in a complex B2B environment - industrial, technical, scientific, or multi-industry experience is highly advantageous. 
  • Demonstrated success partnering with Marketing Operations, Analytics, or Revenue Operations teams to align front end digital execution with back-end systems, data, and performance frameworks.    
  • Experience managing large digital programs, cross functional teams, and external agencies.        
  • Strong understanding of digital analytics platforms, attribution models, and data driven optimization.           
  • Experience working within global or matrixed organizations, balancing regional needs with global standards and governance.

  • Ability to define and lead a multi-channel digital strategy that advances brand visibility, demand generation, and commercial growth across diverse industries.
  • Expertise in setting KPIs, interpreting digital performance data, and using insights to optimize campaigns, channels, and user journeys.
  • Strength in owning the customer facing digital experience—website, SEO, PPC, email, and social—and ensuring these channels work seamlessly together to drive measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate deeply with the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Performance to align digital execution with analytics, attribution, automation, and operational infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.         
  • Advanced expertise in digital marketing platforms, including website CMS systems, SEO tools, PPC platforms, marketing automation, and social media management tools.         
  • Strong understanding of digital analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Search Console) and performance dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is beneficial for collaboration with design and content teams (not required to be a hands-on designer).       
  • Ability to partner effectively with Marketing Operations on CRM, automation, and data infrastructure. 
  • Ability to translate business goals into digital strategies that drive measurable growth.      
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, manage complexity, and deliver high impact digital programs.      
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate, optimize, and continuously improve digital channels and experiences.

Travel

  • Occasional Travel Required (5% - 33%)

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000-$140,000 annually. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
