Job Overview

Digital Content Strategist, Marketing Strategy & Engagement, Berkley School of Nursing - Georgetown University. The Digital Content Strategist owns content strategy across the Berkley School of Nursing's digital presence, including website, social media, search, and email content, building brand awareness and supporting enrollment marketing across the school's program portfolio. This role develops audience personas, maps content across the enrollment funnel, and translates academic priorities into recommended content and campaigns. Then executes that strategy across the editorial calendar, website, and social channels in partnership with other teams and the school's marketing agency of record.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop content strategy, personas, and campaign recommendations aligned to program and enrollment goals.

  • Own the editorial calendar and website content refresh cycle for nursing.georgetown.edu.

  • Work with the marketing agency of record on SEO, AEO, and GEO strategy.

  • Set social media strategy and oversee brand-aligned content across school channels.

  • Write and edit email and customer journey content within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

  • Manage content briefs, deliverables, and timelines with the marketing agency of record.

  • Partner with admissions, faculty, and development on content sourcing and accuracy.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Strategy & Engagement within the Berkley School of Nursing and currently has no direct reports. The Digital Content Strategist works closely with the Senior Manager of Marketing, Business Intelligence, and Analytics to ensure content decisions are informed by performance data, and coordinates with admissions, faculty, development, university-level web and communications teams, and the school's marketing agency of record. This role supports Georgetown University's Jesuit mission by ensuring the school's digital presence authentically communicates its academic and community values to prospective students, faculty, and alumni.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field is required

  • Must have five or more years of experience in digital content strategy, spanning web, social media, and SEO, including demonstrated experience managing an editorial calendar and content refresh process for a multi-audience website.

  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and content performance tools such as Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console is required, along with strong writing and editing skills across a range of audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education marketing, particularly enrollment marketing for graduate or online programs.

  • Experience writing or editing email content within Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable marketing automation platform, with enough comfort navigating customer journeys to inform content timing and sequencing; building or configuring journeys is not required.

  • Experience developing AEO/GEO content strategy for generative search environments.

  • Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standards for web content.

  • Basic working knowledge of Canva or a similar design tool.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
