Data Services Specialist

About the Role

We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and adaptable Data Services Specialist to join our Services Team. In this role, you’ll support client-facing projects across data imports, migrations, site configuration, and quality assurance, while actively shaping how our team leverages AI to work smarter.

Data services currently sit at the intersection of careful, repetitive manual tasks and the exciting opportunity to reimagine those tasks with AI. The right person sees both sides clearly. You’re someone who can roll up your sleeves and do the detailed, sometimes monotonous work that keeps client data accurate today, while actively looking for ways to automate, streamline, and rethink that work alongside us as AI tools evolve.

This is an entry-level position ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow alongside a globally distributed team and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of data operations and AI-driven innovation.
Please note that starting from August 1, we are switching to a fully remote work. 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Data Migration & Imports: Structure and input curriculum data to support client onboarding and migrations into our platforms.
• Data Alignment: Help standardize and align data across Faria’s product ecosystem to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Data Pipelines & Processing: Contribute to building and maintaining automated data pipelines, including cleaning, formatting, and transforming raw data for downstream use.
• Data Quality & Maintenance: Perform routine QA checks, formatting consistency reviews, and updates to keep our datasets accurate and trustworthy.
• AI-Driven Improvements: Partner with the team to explore, test, and apply generative AI tools that streamline data workflows and unlock new efficiencies, helping us continually shift work from manual to automated where it makes sense.

The primary product focus for this role is ManageBac and OpenApply.

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in a related field (Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or similar).
• Sharp attention to detail and genuine curiosity about working with data.
• An analytical mindset paired with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Comfort working at the intersection of hands-on manual data work and AI-assisted automation. Someone who takes pride in doing detailed work well and in finding smarter ways to do it.
• Working knowledge of generative AI tools and an interest in applying them to real-world data challenges.
• A growth mindset, someone who embraces change, contributes ideas, and thrives in an environment where workflows evolve as new AI capabilities emerge.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Eagerness to collaborate across time zones with a global team.

Nice to Have

• Interest and/or experience within Education, EdTech, SaaS, or B2B/B2C platforms.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, etc.) to improve data workflows or productivity.
• Prior experience working with structured data, databases, or data transformation projects.
• Familiarity with common data formats (XLSX, CSV, JSON) and tools like Excel or Google Sheets.
• Exposure to scripting (Python, SQL) is a plus, though not required.
