The Medicare Advantage Reporting team supports Medicare Advantage Operations by providing scheduled and ad hoc reports. The team collaborates with other areas in Medicare Advantage, including but limited to Claims, Membership, Medical Management, Sales & Marketing, Change Management, and the STARS team. Members of the team work individually and collectively in producing these reports.

This is a full time and remote position-based in South Carolina or North Carolina (40 hours a week Monday-Friday working normal business hours in EST Time Zone).

Work Environment:

• Typical office environment. Some travel between buildings and out of town.

Position Purpose

Running queries to pull data from DB2 relational databases residing on the host mainframe to generate reports for Medicare Advantage Operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Reviews, extracts and analyzes data to be used in formulation of procedures, processes and other requirements. Provides reports of relevant activity to be used to identify problematic areas and to provide basis for modification and/or elimination of operations issues.
• Assists with development of complex analysis and sophisticated data compilation, verification, and interpretations to guide divisional efforts. Performs focused analyses as needed. Creates data search programs to identify pertinent data needed to provide supporting documentation for system or operational enhancements/changes.
• Documents reporting procedures so other staff can run ad hoc reports independently. Designs, codes, and maintains complex database programs for the extraction and analysis of data to support financial and operational decisions.
  

To Qualify for This Position, You’ll Need the Following:

Required Education:

• Bachelor's in a job related field

Degree Equivalency:

• Associates degree plus an extra 2 years job-related experience for a total of 4 years of required work experience (see "required work experience")

OR

• 6 total years required work experience

Required Work Experience:

• 2 Years Research and analysis experience.
  

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational, customer service, communications, and analytical skills.
• Ability to use complex mathematical calculations. Advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts.
• Knowledge of relevant computer support systems.
• Knowledge of programming languages across various software platforms, using DB2, SQL, and/or relational databases.
• Ability to analyze data results, determine the source of aberrant statistics, and resolve data issues.

Required Software and Tools:

• Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of tools such as Visual Basic and Macros useful in automating reporting processes.

We Prefer That You Have: ​

• 1 year of Medicare Advantage experience
• 1 year experience using IBM Query Management Facility mainframe software (QMF) or QMF for Workstation in Windows
• 2 years SQL or DB2 programming language experience
