We're looking for a Data & Analytics Product Owner – Finance to join our Enterprise Data Intelligence Solutions (EDIS) team and drive analytics delivery across our Finance & Accounting organization. In this role, you'll own the finance-domain product backlog, lead agile delivery of BI, data science, and AI solutions spanning FP&A, GL, P2P, PSA, CLM, and more, and serve as the day-to-day bridge between Finance & Accounting stakeholders and our analytics development team.
A key focus will be championing self-service BI and AI/BI adoption across F&A, leveraging a newly completed enterprise semantic model as the trusted data foundation. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of financial processes and ERP systems, proven Product Owner experience in a data or analytics environment, and the ability to navigate complex cross-functional stakeholder relationships. Familiarity with Workday Financials is a plus.
The Data & Analytics Product Owner – Finance, Senior Associate leads agile delivery of finance-domain data products across Financial Planning & Analysis, General Ledger, Procure-to-Pay, Professional Services, Contract Lifecycle Management, and related functional areas. Working within a defined product vision and roadmap, this role translates finance business requirements into actionable delivery — owning the backlog, driving sprint execution, and championing self-service BI adoption across the Finance & Accounting organization.
Responsibilities
Backlog Ownership & Delivery
- Owns and maintains the finance-domain product backlog, ensuring stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development
- Translates finance business requirements into user stories, features, and acceptance criteria
- Leads backlog refinement, sprint planning, and story elaboration sessions
- Makes day-to-day decisions on scope and priorities to maintain team velocity and deliver value
- Participates actively in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Collaborates with Scrum Master to remove impediments and support team performance
Finance Domain Expertise
- Maintains deep understanding of transactional systems and financial data across the Finance domain
- Applies knowledge of financial processes — including close cycles, financial reporting, and ERP workflows — to inform requirements and delivery decisions
- Navigates the intersection of ERP reporting and BI analytics, understanding which solutions are owned by the analytics team, the Workday/ERP team, or require cross-functional collaboration
- Ensures finance data products adhere to relevant financial data standards and governance requirements
Stakeholder Engagement
- Acts as the primary day-to-day liaison between Finance & Accounting stakeholders and the analytics development team
- Conducts regular working sessions with F&A operational contacts to gather requirements, validate solutions, and provide delivery updates
- Facilitates alignment between technical capabilities and finance business needs
- Communicates clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
Finance Data Product Development
- Guides development of finance analytics solutions including dashboards, reports, and self-service BI tools spanning P2P, PSA, CLM, GL, Payroll, Tax, Treasury, Revenue, and FP&A
- Champions adoption of self-service Power BI capabilities within the Finance & Accounting organization, leveraging the enterprise semantic model as the trusted foundation
- Drives data literacy initiatives that enable finance stakeholders to independently access and interpret data
- Collaborates with data engineers and architects on data modeling and technical design
- Applies best practices in data visualization, financial reporting, and analytics
Quality & Delivery
- Defines acceptance criteria for features, including data quality rules and financial accuracy standards
- Reviews and accepts completed work to ensure alignment with requirements and quality standards
- Monitors product performance metrics and user adoption across finance stakeholders
- Contributes to continuous improvement in product features and team processes
Qualifications
Required
- 4-6 years of experience as a Product Owner, business analyst, or related role in data/analytics domains
- Strong understanding of financial processes and transactional systems across one or more finance domains (FP&A, P2P, GL, Revenue)
- Familiarity with ERP platforms and how finance data flows between ERP systems and analytics layers
- Proven track record of delivering data products in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms (Power BI preferred; Tableau, Looker, or similar also valued)
- Understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex financial concepts into data requirements and vice versa
- Strong experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and maintaining product backlogs
- Demonstrated ability to make prioritization decisions and manage trade-offs
Preferred
- Experience with Workday Financials (HCM, FIN, or PSA modules)
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification
- SQL proficiency and hands-on experience querying financial datasets
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and financial data standards
- Understanding of SOX-relevant data workflows and financial controls
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling and semantic layer concepts
- Background in finance, accounting, or financial systems consulting

The estimated base salary for this job is $100,000 - $135,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $112,000 - $159,300. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
