The Customer Solutions Engineer will bridge the gap between technical AI capabilities and customer business needs by leading discovery calls, demos, and pilot deployments. This role involves translating complex LLM-powered solutions for stakeholders and providing feedback to internal product and engineering teams.
Customer Solutions Engineer (VEA)
AI-Powered Document Intelligence. Pre-Sales & Post-Sales.
About Adlib
Adlib is the AI Production Layer for regulated industries. We turn complex, unstructured documents into governed, validated, AI-ready data so enterprises can make defensible decisions without rebuilding their stack. Customers see 60% fewer exceptions, 50% faster cycle times and 70% less manual handling.
On top of that trusted data layer sits our agentic intake capability. Agents read the packet, decide what it is, apply the customer’s rules, route the exception and trigger the next action. The document layer establishes trust in the data. The agentic layer acts on it.
Job Overview
We're looking for a Customer Solutions Engineer who is fluent in AI and LLM technology, technically credible, and genuinely strong with customers, someone who can carry a room at a trade show, run a technical discovery call, and get hands-on in a customer's environment to prove value fast. This role calls for someone who understands how modern AI systems work well enough to explain them clearly, scope a real solution, and get a proof of concept or pilot running in a customer's environment.
Adlib doesn't build the underlying AI models, we integrate with them. This role needs to be able to explain that distinction confidently: how LLMs work at a conceptual level, what they're good at, where their limits are, and how Adlib's platform connects to them to solve real document and data problems for customers.
You'll move fluidly between pre-sales and post-sales: supporting a pitch at a trade show one week, running a technical discovery call the next, and leading a hands-on pilot deployment the week after. Versatility across the full customer lifecycle matters more here than depth in any single phase.
What You'll Do
- Partner with sales on discovery calls, technical pitches, and live demos, including at trade shows and customer events
- Translate business problems into a clear, credible AI/LLM-powered solution, in language both technical and non-technical stakeholders can follow
- Explain how LLMs work and how Adlib integrates with AI models, tailored to the customer's level of technical sophistication
- Lead or support proof of concept, pilots, and early-stage deployments directly in customer environments
- Apply AI tools and capabilities in creative, resourceful ways to quickly stand up working solution concepts and prove value to customers
- Flex across pre-sales and post-sales engagements as customer and deal needs require
- Feed field learnings and customer patterns back to the team and the broader Adlib departments (Product, Support, Engineering, etc.)
What You'll Bring
- Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG, and the broader AI/ML landscape, able to speak to trade-offs, integration patterns, and real-world limitations with credibility
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Anthropic
- Experience with automation and workflow orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, or Workato
- Working knowledge of APIs and system integrations (REST, Postman, or similar)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with enterprise content or document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Box, or other
ECM platforms)
- Working familiarity with SQL and Python, enough to read, adapt, and troubleshoot
- Comfortable running or supporting hands-on technical proofs of concept and pilot deployments inside
a customer's own environment
- Excellent customer-facing communication: discovery, workshops, executive conversations, and publicfacing
presentation (trade shows, webinars, field events)
- Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role: solutions engineering, sales engineering,
technical consulting, implementation, or similar
- Genuinely energized by being in front of customers
- Software development or engineering background
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3 to 7 years in a customer-facing technical role (consulting, solutions engineering, implementation, or
similar)
- Prior experience presenting to or working directly with enterprise customers strongly preferred
Role Details
- Reports to: Head of Value Engineering & Customer Solutions
- Location: Remote, with occasional travel for conferences and client meetings (travel cadence varies
by quarter)
- Compensation: $125,000 - 140,000 CAD annually
