About You

You’re someone who enjoys building and improving things in a lean, fast-moving environment. You like being hands-on, getting into the details, and taking ownership rather than working within a lot of red tape. You’re comfortable with the pace and ambiguity of a startup, but bring the accounting discipline and experience needed to operate in a public company environment. You’re looking for a role where you can have real ownership and make an impact as the accounting function continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting function and establish clear accountability across the team and external partners.
• Stabilize and improve the month-end close process, with accurate financials delivered on a consistent timeline.
• Identify and resolve outstanding accounting issues, reconciliations, and process gaps.
• Assess the current accounting systems, processes, and internal controls and provide the CFO with clear recommendations for improvement.
• Successfully manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure Enhanced is prepared for ongoing public-company accounting and reporting requirements.
• Build a reliable, efficient accounting function with a predictable close process, clean books, strong controls, and clear reporting to the CFO.
• Establish a scalable accounting infrastructure and appropriately structured team that can support Enhanced’s continued growth while reducing day-to-day accounting dependency on the CFO.

You Bring

• Prior startup experience working in a lean, fast-moving environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP, financial statements, reconciliations, accruals, and accounting policies.
• Public company experience with SEC reporting, external audits, and internal controls.
• Experience owning month-end close and financial reporting with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• A track record of improving accounting processes, controls, and ERP systems to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
• A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to dive into the details while owning the broader accounting function.

Must Have Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States of America (no sponsorship required). 
• If remote, must be okay with travel to NYC on occasion
