BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
Under the general supervision of the Head of Corporate Solutions Development and the
Maintainer of WFP’s User Interface Kit, the User Interface Developer will focus on supporting
continuous improvement of the corporate User Interface (UI) style guide and React-based UI kit.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Incorporate new and update existing elements in the React-based WFP UI Kit and update the
WFP UI Style Guide (UI Kit documentation) accordingly, explaining clearly when and how the
new or updated elements should be used.
• Interact with WFP’s global developer community through active participation in the Slack
channel, answering questions from interface designers and front-end developers, and guiding
them in the correct usage of the WFP UI Kit and on how to apply the WFP UI style.
• Stay on top of emerging needs concerning user interface elements, patterns, and components,
working with the product teams to find suitable implementations that adhere to the WFP UI
style.
• Reach out to interface designers and front-end developers to obtain feedback for making the
WFP UI Kit and its documentation easier to use.
• Coordinate the support of external vendor.
• Ensure the maintenance of the service design platform hosting.
• Developer user interfaces, as required by the Division’s priorities.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
Up-to-date UI Kit, fully adhering to WFP’s Brand and with developer-friendly documentation

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: University degree or equivalent working experience in Multimedia, or related
fields.
Experience: At least 3 years of working experience with user interface design and React
front-end development.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Solid knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, Typescript).
• Good understanding of React.js and its core principles.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and CSS, including DOM manipulation
and the JavaScript object model; and
• Knowledge of (User Interface) Design systems.

official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) or
Portuguese (one of WFP’s working languages) is desirable
