Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Consultant, Asset Liability Management (ALM), you will support the development of Vancity’s asset-liability and treasury strategies by providing market, member, liquidity, and interest rate risk analysis. You will develop forecasts, perform scenario and sensitivity analyses, provide recommendations that support balance sheet management decisions, and contribute to the ongoing management of Vancity’s hedging portfolio. This role plays a key part in helping optimize financial margin, manage market and liquidity risk, and support long-term financial sustainability. We are seeking an analytical and collaborative finance professional with strong quantitative skills, treasury knowledge, and the ability to translate complex analysis into practical recommendations.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role and will report directly to the Manager, ALM & Capital Management. This position is fully remote and open to candidates located in British Columbia or Ontario.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Developing pro-forma balance sheet forecasts and financial margin projections to support treasury and balance sheet management activities
• Performing interest rate risk, liquidity risk, sensitivity, and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making
• Providing recommendations on strategies to manage market and liquidity risk while optimizing long-term financial contribution
• Monitoring balance sheet performance and identifying opportunities to strengthen treasury outcomes
• Supporting the development and enhancement of asset-liability risk strategies and forecasting methodologies
• Consulting with internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives and providing analytical recommendations that support business objectives
• Documenting and conducting analysis to support the management of the hedging portfolio in alignment with approved treasury strategies
• Preparing reports, presentations, and analytical insights for leadership and key stakeholders
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives related to treasury, forecasting, risk analysis, and balance sheet management

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Accounting, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in treasury, asset liability management, financial analysis, market risk, balance sheet management, or a related financial services role
• Strong understanding of interest rate risk, liquidity risk, forecasting, financial modelling, and treasury management principles
• Experience performing quantitative analysis and developing recommendations based on financial and market data
• Strong knowledge of financial institution balance sheets, financial margin management, and risk management techniques
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Professional designation such as CFA, CPA, FRM, Treasury Professional, or progress toward such designations is considered an asset

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

• Experience working within a credit union, bank, or other regulated financial institution
• Knowledge of derivatives, hedging strategies, and asset-liability management systems
• Experience supporting regulatory reporting, liquidity management, or capital management activities

What You’ll Earn:

This role offers a salary range of $86,400 to $111,800 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
