In this role, you will lead construction-phase projects on behalf of clients, overseeing project document administration, project coordination, communication, and quality assurance from kickoff through closeout. As the primary point of contact for clients during construction phase services, you will help ensure projects are completed in accordance with contract requirements while delivering exceptional client service and maintaining Benchmark's standards of accountability and technical excellence.

Requirements
Construction Phase Services Support
- Coordinate and oversee construction-phase projects from award through final closeout, including:
- Monitor construction schedules, milestones, and construction-related deliverables in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the pre-construction meetings and establish project communication and administration procedures.
- Monitor construction budgets, pay applications, change orders, risk factors, delays, budget variances and cost impacts.
- Recommend to the Client any corrective actions and/or course corrections when needed.
- Ensure contract requirements are fulfilled throughout construction.
- Oversee and ensure completion of project closeout documentation (construction updates and closeout files) in partnership with Drafting Technicians and Project Coordinators.
- Monitor project performance and proactively escalate issues for resolution that could affect schedule, budget, quality, or client satisfaction.
- Assist in reinforcing expectations for Field Consultants related to on-site project management and technical excellence.
- Visit project sites as needed to support quality assurance efforts and to reinforce/strengthen relationships with consultants, clients, and contractors.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing schedules, resources, and priorities.
Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and roofing contractors during the project construction phase.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Consultants, Account Managers, Drafters, and Project Coordinators from project kickoff to closeout to ensure successful delivery of services.
- Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Manage client expectations and facilitate timely resolution of project issues.
- Collaborate with field team members through timely feedback on Daily Construction Reports (DCRs) and client communication.
Documentation, Process Improvement and Compliance
- Review and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper execution, adherence to design intent, and compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal standards.
- Review contractor material submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and change order/change directive requests. Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements to enhance workflow and client satisfaction.
- Monitor risk factors, delays, and budget variances and recommend corrective actions and/or course corrections when needed.
Strategic Contribution
- Represent Benchmark's commitment to professionalism, technical excellence, and client service.
- Participate in training as needed.
- Assist with and contribute to additional key projects and initiatives as requested by the Roof Leadership Team (RLT) to ensure alignment with Benchmark's VTO and the Roof Leadership Team's goals.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence within the team.
Key Relationships
The Construction Services Manager (Roof) reports to the Project Support Team Leader (Roof) and is responsible for the successful execution of the construction phase of Benchmark's commercial roofing projects. They will work closely with Consultants, Account Managers, Drafters, Project Coordinators, and the Scheduler, as well as external stakeholders including contractors, vendors, and clients.
Qualifications
Required
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites across the U.S. (10-20% of the time).
- 2-5 years of experience in project management, design, and/or construction administration for commercial and industrial roof projects.
- General knowledge of commercial roofing systems and construction quality assurance.
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring project teams/subcontractors.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational, project planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, positive, and lasting relationships with clients.
- Driven by a deep passion for technical excellence, commitment to quality, and a desire for continuous learning, growth, and improvement.
- Physical requirements:
- Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
- Access commercial/industrial roofs via ladders, stairs, and/or steps.
- Sit, stand, stoop, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Crawl in and out of confined spaces on occasion.
Preferred
- Project management experience in engineering, architecture, construction management, or roofing product manufacturing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (Benchmark uses Deltek Vantagepoint).
- Exposure to the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
