The Configuration Management & Documentation Specialist serves as the program's owner of documentation configuration management, the artifact library, and the intake process that governs how work reaches the team. This role converts engineering and technical content into clear, actionable products for non-engineering stakeholders, and provides direct support to the Program Manager on all recurring reporting deliverables. The specialist will hit the ground running, contributing to the Weekly Progress Report, Quad Chart, and Leadership Briefing Package beginning in week one.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, own, and continuously maintain the program Artifact Library, ensuring version control, traceability, and configuration management of all documentation and artifacts across the program.
  • Design, document, and operate the COSE intake process governing how work requests reach the team, including development of a defined RACI matrix and supporting workflow diagrams.
  • Produce and maintain the Intake Workflow Configuration Documentation and the Stakeholder Training Guide.
  • Support the Program Manager in producing the Weekly Progress Report, Quad Chart, and Leadership Briefing Package, as well as monthly reports and staff roster products.
  • Support development of the Contractor Program Management Plan (CPMP),
  • Edit and translate engineering content into documentation that non-engineering stakeholders can understand and act on.
  • Apply configuration management discipline to all program documentation, ensuring artifacts remain current, controlled, and auditable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated technical writing experience for a federal customer, including SOPs and process documentation.
  • Experience performing configuration management of documentation and artifacts across a program.
  • Experience building and operating an intake or work-request process with a defined RACI.
  • Proven ability to edit engineering content into products a non-engineering stakeholder can act on.
  • Must be a US Citizen with a Level 4 Public Trust Suitability or the ability to obtain and maintains one.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience


Required Certifications

One of the following:

  • IAT Level III (e.g., CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent), or
  • IAM Level III, or
  • IASAE Level III


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with knowledge management platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence).
  • Experience producing documentation conformant with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Prior documentation experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
