Position Overview

The Commercial Claims Training Coordinator is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the VP, Claims Operations. This role oversees the development, maintenance, and delivery of training programs, resources, and employee development initiatives for the Commercial Claims department. The Commercial Claims Trainer serves as a subject matter expert on commercial claims processes and systems and supports onboarding, continuing education, mentoring, and continuous improvement efforts to promote consistent claims practices and service excellence.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years commercial claims adjusting experience, with demonstrated expertise in commercial auto, general liability, or property claims. Experience across multiple lines is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or AIC designation.
  • Supervisory and training experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial auto, commercial property, and/or commercial liability claims, applicable case law, insurance industry practices, third-party recovery, and claims handling principles.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, critical-thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.


Essential Job Functions

  • Direct the development, maintenance, and delivery of customized curricula to train new employees, deliver new skills and knowledge to incumbent staff, and provide continuing education.
  • Oversee, in close coordination with department leadership, the development, maintenance, and implementation of formal quality-review instruments to measure employee proficiency, identify training and development needs, and optimize established processes and common practices.
  • Create reports and other tools to measure and demonstrate the efficacy of training efforts and communicate key results to department leadership and employees.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of commercial claims guidelines, policies, procedures, manuals, training materials, and technical reference resources.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and coordinate a stable of subject-matter experts.
  • Direct a formal mentoring program for new employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the department by identifying opportunities for enhancements in workflow, processes, procedures, systems, and claims-handling practices.
  • Oversee the delivery of continuing education for the Commercial Claims department and provide support for professional licensing and certification efforts.


Work Location Eligibility

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to work from our Sandy, Utah headquarters. Qualified applicants residing elsewhere within the continental United States are also encouraged to apply. Candidates who are not local should expect periodic travel to Sandy for in-person team collaboration.

The expected salary range for this position is 89,100.00-111,300.00. This salary range depends on experience, education, and location for this specific position.
