Team Overview

At TransUnion, we use information to help people make better decisions and enable organizations to optimize risk-based decisions while helping consumers understand and manage their personal information. The Collections team supports the organization by resolving complex account issues and recovering outstanding receivables from high-volume customer portfolios. The Collector builds productive customer relationships, applies critical thinking to escalated collection matters, and contributes to cash flow objectives. This role reports to a Sr. Lead, Shared Services. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• Proactively engage customers with overdue accounts to develop and execute effective collection strategies and payment plans. 

• Facilitate the communication, information exchange, and relationship building necessary to collect outstanding receivables within established contractual payment terms. 

• Conduct scheduled collection calls, address critical discussion points, and accurately document outcomes in the designated system. 

• Investigate, analyze, and resolve invoice disputes in collaboration with external customers and internal business partners. 

• Analyze account information to identify risk, prioritize collection activities, and resolve complex issues affecting aging invoices. 

• Partner with Sales and other cross-functional teams to coordinate collection efforts and support cash flow objectives. 

• Monitor performance against established targets for past-due accounts and balances aged 90 days or more. 

• Maintain accurate account documentation and comply with applicable company policies, procedures, and internal controls. 

• Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve collection processes and operational efficiency. 

Required Knowledge And Experiences

• A minimum of two to three years of hands-on collections experience working with business-to-business customers. 

• Experience managing high-volume portfolios that include complex or challenging customer accounts. 

• Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency. 

• Strong customer-focused approach, with an understanding of business needs, performance targets, and relationship management. 

• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, analytical problem-solving, and account-documentation skills. 

Required Technical Skills 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 

• Ability to use enterprise resource planning and account-management systems to research, manage, and document collection activities. 

• Fluency in English and Spanish.

• Ability to build effective working relationships across Collections, Sales, and other internal teams. 

• Willingness to support special projects and additional departmental priorities as assigned.
