The Role 

As a Coding Quality Specialist 2, you will apply your expertise in CPT and ICD-10 coding to review, analyze, and accurately code radiology services. Your work directly supports revenue cycle performance, compliance, and the integrity of clinical documentation. Working with moderate independence, you will evaluate medical records, interpret provider documentation, and ensure coding accuracy across a variety of radiology encounters. 

 

In an average day, you will: 

  • Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier coding for radiology procedures and services. 

  • Analyze clinical documentation to support compliant coding and reimbursement practices. 

  • Apply knowledge of National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits, payer-specific requirements, and regulatory guidelines. 

  • Identify and resolve coding discrepancies, edits, and documentation-related issues. 

  • Collaborate with coding colleagues, providers, and operational teams to address coding questions and improve accuracy. 

  • Maintain a high degree of precision while managing productivity expectations in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Support coding quality initiatives that enhance revenue cycle performance and compliance outcomes. 

  • Utilize strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to evaluate complex coding scenarios and determine appropriate code assignment. 

 

Successful candidates bring professional coding experience, preferably in Radiology, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, clinical documentation interpretation, and healthcare reimbursement practices. The ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail is essential.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant coding experience required. Radiology coding experience preferred.

Licensure: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The pay range for this role is $23.00 - $35.32 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
