Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Database Administrator for the Unit4 Cloud Operations department. As Database Administrator (DBA) you are responsible for the daily SQL management and maintenance for our customers and shared environments in our (Public) Cloud infrastructure.

  • You will be responsible for the daily management and monitoring of SQL infrastructure and make changes where necessary (running in Microsoft Azure and regular data centers)
  • You will install, migrate and manage SQL Server database environments of customers in the in Unit4 cloud platform
  • You will be responsible for backups process, performance tuning and optimization of database servers;
  • You will ensure that the documentation is up-to-date and plays an active role in guiding and advising customers
  • You will work in close interaction with Cloud team's in customer issues analysis, prioritization and resolution

Qualifications

Here are the qualities and qualifications we're looking for:

  • Experience in Windows OS, Active Directory, SQL server, Powershell
  • Database Design & Architecture: Schema design, normalization/denormalization, Data partitioning and sharding strategies
  • Performance Optimization: Query tuning and indexing
  • Experience with database monitoring tools and proactive alerting
  • Experience with PostgreSQL is an advantage
  • Willingness to learn: We're always striving to improve and innovate, and we're looking for team members who share that mindset. We want individuals who are eager to learn new technologies and practices, and who are excited to grow their skills.
  • Resourcefulness: As a Cloud Ops professional, you'll need to be able to search for information and apply solutions quickly and efficiently. We're looking for individuals who can think critically and creatively to find the best solutions.
  • Technical skills: We require good knowledge of MS Windows Server monitoring and maintenance, as well as experience with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, JSON, or other scripting languages. Knowledge of network infrastructure, Microsoft Azure platform, and SQL Server is an advantage.
  • Communication skills: Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential. We value team members who can collaborate effectively and clearly communicate technical information.
