Why This Role Exists

Montana is home to many rural and underserved communities where access to behavioral health services can be limited. Frontier Psychiatry exists to help close that gap by bringing high-quality psychiatric and therapeutic care directly to patients through secure telehealth.

As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide evidence-based therapy to patients while working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and a clinical pharmacist. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful therapeutic relationships, support patients in achieving their goals, and help expand access to care without sacrificing clinical quality.

We are hiring a Montana-based therapist on purpose. Telehealth allows us to reach patients throughout the state, including communities where traditional access to behavioral health services may be limited. Living in Montana gives you an understanding of the communities and realities your patients experience.

This is direct clinical work with a clear purpose behind it.

Schedule & Commitment

This is a full-time role with a minimum of 27 patient-facing hours per week. You set your own schedule. The rest of your week goes to documentation, supervision, and team consultation.

  • Participate in supervision, rounding, and clinical consultation.
  • Be willing to obtain licensure in additional states as needed to meet clinical demand.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 30 days: You are onboarded, familiar with Frontier's clinical workflows and documentation expectations, and comfortable using our telehealth and electronic documentation systems.

By 90 days: You are providing consistent, high-quality therapy, maintaining timely documentation, and confidently collaborating with psychiatric providers and the broader behavioral health team.

Over your first year: Your patients are making meaningful progress toward their treatment goals. You are practicing evidence-based therapy, collaborating effectively with colleagues, and helping expand access to behavioral health care for patients throughout Alaska.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Master’s degree from a CSWE- or CACREP-accredited institution.
  • Independently licensed as an LCSW or LCPC in Montana at the time of hire.
  • For LCPC applicants: completion of the NCE or NCMHCE. Candidates who have not yet taken the NCMHCE must be eligible and willing to complete it if required for licensure in additional states.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including short-term and targeted approaches.
  • Proficiency in remote care delivery, including secure telehealth platforms and electronic documentation systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
  • A private, reliable home environment that supports confidential telehealth care.

Helpful, not required

  • Experience providing behavioral health services to rural or underserved populations.
  • Experience providing telehealth services.
  • Experience providing therapy to children and adolescents (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with individual, family, or group therapy.
  • Additional state licenses.
  • Experience working in an integrated behavioral health or collaborative care environment.

If you meet most of this and not all of it, apply anyway. We would rather read your application than guess.

What We Offer

Expanding access to behavioral health care depends on supporting the clinicians who deliver it. That means real support, not a mission statement.

  • $54,500 base salary plus a monthly uncapped bonus based on total wRVUs (work relative value units) billed
  • 100% remote
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation (120 hours), plus 40 hours of sick time

  • 100% employer-paid premiums for employee-only medical, dental, vision, and accident coverage
  • HSA option
  • Stock options
  • Company-provided equipment
  • $500 per year toward continuing education
