Claims Team Lead - General Liability

About the Role

As the Dedicated Team Lead, you lead Rainbow — the single dedicated team that handles the full spectrum of Restaurant & Hospitality's claims, segmented internally by Fast Track, Moderate, and Severity/MCU. Unlike a single-tier team, your adjusters each specialize in one segment, which means you need to be conversant across all three to coach effectively, cover gaps, and keep the handoffs between tiers clean.

You stay hands-on. When a claim needs to step up a tier, when a new hire needs backup, or when volume shifts unexpectedly, you're in the file — not just reviewing it after the fact.

Who You Are

• A claims professional with a track record in high-exposure commercial general liability claims across a range of industries and loss types
• A strong leader with litigation management experience who can review defense strategy and reserve positioning
• Tech-oriented and excited about using analytics to separate genuine hygiene issues from real disposition gaps
• Curious — you want the whole story on a legacy claim before deciding whether it needs a new strategy or just a decision
• Anti-status quo — when inventory drifts, you act on it rather than accepting it as the norm
• Comfortable with phone communications and understand their role throughout the claims process

What You'll Do

• Lead and coach the Rainbow dedicated team across its Fast Track, Moderate, and Severity/MCU adjusters
• Own consistency of escalation triggers within the client— dollar thresholds, litigation status, and catastrophic injury criteria — so claims move to the right tier at the right time
• Monitor per-tier caseload targets (~87–88 claims per adjuster) and manage hybrid/overflow assignments between tiers
• Coordinate onboarding and go-live timing for new Rainbow hires, including phased transfer of pending inventory
• Serve as backup for the Manager and as SME for first-line escalations and roundtable discussions
• Prepare and present Rainbow-specific claims reports and metrics to the Manager and clients
• Step in on claims handling directly, including reviewing moderate and severity file strategy

Qualifications

• 5+ years of insurance claims experience in commercial general liability claims, with exposure across multiple severity tiers
• Active adjuster license required: resident state license if available, otherwise a Designated Home State (DHS) license
• 2+ years of leadership experience, with a preference for experience managing in a remote environment
• Comfortable evolving claims systems and processes to support a segmented, multi-tier team
• Increased reserve and payment authority, with the ability to assist with moderate-tier review
