Claims Liaison | 100% Remote (WFH) Opportunity         

General Summary

Under minimal direction, the Claims Liaison’s primary responsibilities are to monitor the clients assigned so that they are operating efficiently and effectively. This includes close interaction with the client contact, and primary claims contact with the designated Strategic Partnership Manager for their assigned clients. This position acts as the interface between claims and internal/external clients to create an environment for efficient and successful resolution of claims issues. Ability to forge cross-functional relationships with other departments across the Company for problem resolution with suggested process improvement opportunities. The Claims Liaison acts as a facilitator, educator and problem solver in working with agencies, sales and territory managers regarding workers’ compensation claims issues, policies and procedures. Makes appropriate and rational decisions on issues within authority and provides recommendations for those exceeding authority levels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate issue resolution and effectively answer client claim questions and concerns. Claims technical resource for internal departments, agencies, and policyholders.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with outside agency services. Coordinates with Sales, Territory Managers and Underwriting to identify and service prospective and existing clients to assist in retaining current and obtaining new business.
  • Conduct meetings with insureds at client locations or virtually to educate and communicate the claims processes, and to review claim files to provide status updates and to identify, address and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Conduct, in person or telephonically, various status meetings with internal clients and external vendors.
  • Participate in Risk Review and Agency Review meetings to provide information, insight and recommendations regarding retention or corrective actions that may be required.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing professional communications with all parties, internal and external, ensuring satisfaction with company services.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
  • Maintain awareness of current and changing regulations in the workers’ compensation field to provide accurate and timely information to advise clients.
  • Identify areas for improvement related to claims and underwriting processes and make recommendations to senior management as necessary.
  • Issue periodic reports and provide guidance to management and others as required.
  • Ensure timely and independent compliance with management issues; prioritize and ensure timely completion of activities and assignments.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending employer sponsored training classes, conferences, or seminars to qualify for continuing education units, and meet other requirements as necessary to maintain State certification and licensure as a Workers’ Compensation Adjuster.
  • Attend and participate in the Company’s Annual Sales Summit.

    • Provide excellent support and communication to diverse distribution channels and national partners.
    • Performs necessary and regular meetings with customers and prospects in order to build strong relationships that results in the achievement of our goals and those of our partners while maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction.

Requirements / Background and Experience/Expertise

  • 4 years’ experience working in a Workers’ Compensation claims environment at the Adjuster level or higher managing high exposure lost time claims of a complex nature.
  • Direct experience with Workers' Compensation laws, statutes, regulations and company policies and practices.
  • Working knowledge of an imaged claims management system.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to interface professionally with all levels of the company.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills and ability to deal professionally with people in stressful situations.
  • Possess advanced proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook.
  • Technical and intuitive capability with systems and reporting.
  • Familiarity with online conference tools and ability to arrange Teams meetings for executive meetings.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to use good judgment to determine the best approach or action to take in non-routine situations.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently with minimal direction. The ability to multi-task, skills to determine the relative importance of each, adhere to deadlines, and complete assignments accordingly.
  • Ability to travel to insured and agent offices for meetings.
  • Ability to demonstrate company core values.

Certification

  • AIC, ARM or CPCU certification
  • Current Experienced Claims Adjuster Designation

Work Environment

  • Remote: This role is a remote (work from home (WFH) opportunity) and only open to candidates currently located in the United States and able to work without sponsorship.
  • It requires a suitable space that provides a private and quiet workplace.
  • Expected Work Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
  • Travel: May be required to travel to off-site location(s) to attend meetings, as necessary
