Job Summary: 
The Case Selection Specialist evaluates cases to determine if they meet the firm’s acceptance criteria and makes timely decisions regarding case acceptance or declination. The ideal candidate pays attention to detail, works independently, and uses strong critical thinking skills. Knowledge of VBMS database and VA disability benefits adds value to this role. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Review incoming cases and assess them against established acceptance criteria. 
  • Make decisions to accept or decline cases, documenting each decision to meet firm standards. 
  • Maintain an efficient workflow to manage a high volume of case evaluations. 
  • Operate independently while following guidelines and protocols. 
  • Adapt to changes in processes and criteria as the firm’s needs evolve. 
  • Use VBMS database for case information and maintain accurate records. 
  • Communicate decisions and relevant information clearly with the Chief Intake and Acquisition Officer and other team members. 


Qualifications: 

  • Possess experience in case evaluation or intake roles within VA benefits field. 
  • Understand VA disability benefits and the VBMS database (preferred). 
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.  
  • Work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines. 
  • Apply strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities. 
  • Adapt quickly, stay dependable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Evaluate case details thoroughly. 
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Clearly articulate decisions and the rationale behind accepting or declining cases, both in writing and verbally. 
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Identify issues or inconsistencies in case information and find solutions or seek clarification. 
  • Organizational Skills: Track multiple cases, deadlines, and documentation.  
  • Technical Proficiency: Use specialized software, including the VBMS database and firm’s CRM/CM system.   
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Handle sensitive client information with a high level of privacy and professionalism. 
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Focus on client needs and outcomes while evaluating cases.  
  • Resilience and Stress Tolerance: Manage a high volume of cases without sacrificing attention to detail or quality. 
  • Continuous Learner: Stay updated on VA disability laws, industry best practices, and changes to the firm’s criteria or processes. 
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases or policy changes while maintaining independence in daily tasks.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 Hours
