The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Global Quality Specialist for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will support the Global Product Group Quality Manager in implementing strategic actions, identifying quality improvement opportunities, and contributing to corrective and preventive measures to enhance product and process quality.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards. This position offers the opportunity to shape quality excellence, contributing to Hitachi Energy’s vision of delivering smarter and more sustainable energy solutions.

How you will make an impact

  • Support the execution of the strategic quality plan, ensuring effective implementation across all operations within the Global Product Group.

  • Assist factories and regions in achieving compliance with product, process regulations, and customer requirements.

  • Integrate the Voice of the Customer into quality planning to enhance customer satisfaction and alignment with customer needs.

  • Ensure Global Product Group quality standards are integrated into factory quality management systems and verify adherence. Take ownership of Quality Inspection Cards (QIC), including their content, standardization, and deployment across factories.

  • Lead Critical Process Reviews (CPRs) – global audit activities aimed at identifying technical risks and opportunities for improvement.

  • Drive the deployment of APQP elements (Design FMEA, Process FMEA, Special Characteristics, Control Plans).

  • Support factories in resolving quality issues by conducting analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by contributing to Lean Six Sigma projects and enhancing quality processes.

  • Develop training materials and educate employees on quality processes, methods, and tools to build competencies across the Global Product Group.

Your background

  • Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality or Engineering function within a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of transformer design and manufacturing processes is a strong advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making to identify quality improvement opportunities.

  • Excellent communication in English and strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate quality improvement initiatives, demonstrating strong project management skills.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and compliance standards.

  • Willingness to travel up to 40%.
