Business Office Certified Coder

Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: Center City 833 Chestnut - Philadelphia, PA, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Day Shift, Job Summary: The Business Office Certified Coder reviews coding and documentation for all services provided by the practice through chart auditing as well as AR denials and provides ongoing education to providers regarding coding and documentation while exercising discretion and independent judgment .  Key Accountabilities:  Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office required.  Essential Duties: Audits physician and non-physician provider documentation for compliance with carrier and billing regulations.  Tracks and maintains records of all audits, results of conducted audits, and education. Develops a pass/fail system and re-audit procedure based on audit results. Participates and assists actively with external audits. Creates trainings for physicians and staff based on current coding standards and regulations. Reviews and corrects AR Denials for coding issues Provides monthly statistics on audits conducted, trainings provided, and re-trainings for providers failing an audit Requests and reviews confidential employee and physician information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.  Requests and reviews contractor and business associate information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.  Creates, tracks, maintains, and audits covering physician logs for all applicable offices. Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization. Qualifications: CPC certification required through the AAPC Minimum five years of surgical coding experience, preferably orthopaedic   Knowledge of disease process, normal/abnormal findings, reasonable courses of treatment, quality assurance, and risk management issues required Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office required High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in nursing or other medical field preferred Location:  fully remote, but candidates must reside in DE, FL, GA, MD, NC, NJ, PA, SC, or TX Hours:  Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 4:30pm EST Total Hours per Week:  40 Status:  permanent  Pay Range:  $21.00/hr - $31.00/hr Our Commitment to Employees:  Come work at Rothman Orthopaedics! Our employees are our single greatest asset, as such, we strive to provide a professional, nurturing environment where every member of our team can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
