This role is responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining Business Intelligence systems, including the creation of interactive Tableau dashboards and reports. The developer will also lead high-profile projects, perform data analysis, and provide technical support to stakeholders to ensure best practices are followed.
Role Overview:
Under the leadership of the Risk Corp Director, this position is responsible for building, deploying and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) systems that integrate with databases, data warehouses/marts and Datalake. The primary focus of the role is to build dashboards and/or reports according to the identified technical requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting ad hoc requests by crafting & executing queries against multiple sources upon request.
Work Arrangement:
- This is a 100% Remote position but we prefer you live in EST or CST time zones
- For roles that are 100% remote or hybrid, you must have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection to support daily job responsibilities. A minimum bandwidth of 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required.
- Those fully remote associates residing in states where service is required by contract, law, or regulation will be allowed to submit for reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
- Generate Tableau Dashboard with quick/context/global filters, parameters and calculated fields on Tableau (7.x) reports.
- Create Tableau Dashboards with interactive views, trends, and drill-downs along with user-level security.
- Access and transform massive datasets through filtering, grouping, aggregation, and statistical calculation.
- Lead high-profile projects with the design and identification of appropriate data sources to optimize dashboard development.
- Design, develop, and test Tableau scripts to import data from source systems and test Tableau dashboards to meet customer requirements.
- Monitors performance of reports and dashboards and takes corrective action to optimize and improve dashboard performance as necessary.
- Participates in the application validation and QA efforts as they pertain to reporting, data, dashboard creation and execution.
- Develop best practices, documentation standards, processes and procedures for Tableau Dashboard design and publishing.
- Work with BI Team and others within the organization as a Subject Matter Expert to help troubleshoot issues with Tableau dashboards, assist with design and data development issues.
- Works closely and collaboratively with end users, BI team, EDWH team, other analysts and stakeholders to ensure best practices are being used, proper training is being offered and issues and questions are being answered promptly.
- Maintain and support Tableau data analytics platforms.
- Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate and migrate existing BI systems into Tableau applications.
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses.
- Develop and update technical documentation and work in partnership with the business analysts.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in business intelligence development.
- At least three (3) years of experience understanding database management systems, HADOOP and Big Data environments, Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Online Analytical Processing, Extract Transform Load, Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI).
- Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist using Tableau technologies.
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.
- Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Servers, Oracle Databases.
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
- Analytical mindset with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Tableau Certification: Qualified Associate or Certified Professional recommended.
