About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Business Development / SDR professional to join a growing technology staffing business specialising in the Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical sector.
This is a new-business-focused role for someone who enjoys outbound sales, prospecting and creating opportunities from cold outreach.
The company already works with 8 of the top 10 global pharmaceutical businesses, giving the successful candidate strong case studies and an established reputation to leverage when approaching new prospects.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within pharmaceutical and life sciences organisations.
- Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting through phone, email, Teams and Zoom.
- Generate qualified meetings and opportunities for the wider sales team.
- Develop leads and market intelligence provided by the delivery team.
- Build relationships with new decision-makers and expand opportunities within existing target organisations.
- Sell technology-focused staffing solutions, including contract recruitment and Statement of Work (SOW) solutions.
- Use email sequencing and prospecting tools to support outbound campaigns.
- Handle objections confidently and maintain consistent follow-up with prospects.
- Work towards agreed activity, meeting and revenue targets.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years' international sales or business development experience, ideally working with UK or international clients.
- Strong outbound sales and cold-calling experience.
- Confident speaking with senior decision-makers over the phone and via video.
- Proven ability to generate new opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
- Strong objection-handling and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable working in a target-driven sales environment.
- Experience within recruitment, staffing, technology or life sciences would be highly advantageous.
- Motivated by performance and commission.
- Strong spoken and written English.
