Main Objective of the Position
Our mission is to Simplify Life. avertra helps highly regulated,
customer-centric industries, led by utilities and energy, deliver
exceptional experiences through our MiCustomer platform and digital services.
As we pursue more opportunities across the industries we serve, we
are creating a dedicated home for our bids and proposals. This role
lets us compete for more deals and raise the quality of every
submission. You will be the person who makes a pursuit run: reading
the solicitation closely, holding the team to every requirement, and
shaping a response that speaks directly to what the evaluator is scoring.
You will manage pursuits from the moment a solicitation arrives (an
RFI, RFP, RFQ, or equivalent) through to submission. That means
building the compliance checklist and schedule, researching the
issuing organization to sharpen positioning, drafting and refining
persuasive content (using AI tools to move faster, then verifying it),
and coordinating subject matter experts across teams so every input
lands complete and on time. Over time, as you learn our way of working
and the industries we serve, you will grow into owning the bid process
end to end and building the reusable playbook and content library
behind it.
Proposals run on deadlines, and some of them are US-facing, so a
flexible schedule with occasional evening meetings is part of the
picture. You can work US hours if you prefer, or split your day in a
way that keeps you available when it matters.
Main Job Responsibilities
Bid Ownership & Orchestration
- Run pursuits from receipt of the solicitation through to
submission, building the proposal schedule, coordinating the
kickoff, and driving review checkpoints.
- Contribute to the bid or no-bid decision with a clear read of
fit, requirements, and effort. Full ownership builds over time and
is not expected from day one.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Build a compliance matrix for every solicitation, tracking
each requirement, question, format rule, and portal step to completion.
- Run a final compliance and consistency sweep before submission
so nothing required is missed.
Client & Opportunity Research
- Research the issuing organization's priorities, strategic
initiatives, and operating environment, and translate the insight
into positioning and win themes we can leverage.
Persuasive Content Development
- Draft, edit, and refine narrative responses, executive
summaries, workbooks, questionnaires, and forms, written to the
evaluation criteria.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate drafting and research, then
verify accuracy, compliance, and voice before anything is submitted.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Align and follow up with subject matter experts across
departments so input is gathered, complete, and delivered on
schedule to the standard the response requires.
Process & Knowledge Management
- Establish our response methodology: how questions are
structured, answered, and evidenced, supported by a reusable
content library, templates, and approved messaging.
Requirements
Meticulous
- Proposals live and die on the details. You catch the missing
form, the wrong word limit, the inconsistent name, every time,
because a compliance slip can disqualify strong work.
Calm Under Deadline
- Tight, immovable timelines are the norm, and you stay
organized and steady when several are converging at once.
Evaluator-Centric Writer
- You write how the response will be scored, turning technical
input into clear answers that give the evaluator exactly what they
are looking for.
Curious Researcher
- You dig into an issuing organization's priorities and
incumbents, and translate what you learn into a sharper win theme.
Diplomatic Driver
- You chase input from senior colleagues who do not report to
you, and you do it in a way that keeps the relationship strong.
AI-Enabled and Ambitious
- You use AI to work faster, verify everything before it goes
in, and you want to grow into owning the whole bid function.
Systems Builder
- You turn one-off effort into something repeatable. Every
pursuit should leave behind a template, an answer, or a lesson
that makes the next one faster.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong written English and the ability to write clearly under
tight constraints.
- Comfortable following up with senior colleagues who do not
report to you to keep deadlines on track.
- Willingness to use AI tools in your workflow.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing
versions, checklists, and moving parts.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, B2B Marketing, Engineering, or
a related field.
Experience
- 2 to 4 years, with any experience in business development,
proposals, bids, B2B or product marketing, or a related field. It
does not need to be a full two years specialized in proposals.
Preferences
- Background in enterprise software or SaaS.
- Experience with public sector or government tenders and their
procurement rules.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code (can be taught).
Travel
Work Schedule
- Flexible, with occasional evening meetings for US overlap.
Full US hours are an option, or split your day as long as key
deadlines and meetings are covered.
Benefits
- You'll
join a global family of passionate people building a
sustainable, scalable ecosystem committed to using logic to
