AI Summary

You will build and lead the assurance function, acting as the primary contact for NHS customers regarding data protection, risk management, and compliance. Additionally, you will develop internal systems, documentation, and processes to ensure product launches and customer interactions are supported by reliable assurance frameworks.

I quit medicine because I kept watching patients die needlessly, for avoidable reasons. In almost every case, the science and the clinicians were fine. It was the system around them that failed: the way information moved, the way decisions got routed, and the way fragmented teams and fragmented data turned solvable problems into tragedy.

Our mission is human wellbeing, and we're focusing on the breakthrough technology of personalised medicine. Since the beginning, our proprietary insight has always been that the company to create a true active learning data engine with a loss function against human wellbeing would be the one to crack it, becoming one of the most impactful companies in the world as a result.

We're now in 1,100+ clinics, across 4 product lines, serve >20% of the UK population, and have solved >5.7 million patient cases in the past 12 months alone, saving an estimated 8,600 lives. We are cash flow positive, growing fast, and have a tight crew of ~35 people.

Multiple trillion-dollar companies will be built in healthcare over the next two decades, and we intend to be one of them.

We have a knights of the round table culture with a flat hierarchy, where we empower builders to have outsized impact on millions of lives, and where we collaboratively converge on the optimal action without dogma or ego. We're all here to serve a greater mission than ourselves. The closest analogy for our culture is probably Firefly (the TV series): a small crew on a ship at the frontier, each person exceptional in a specific way, deeply loyal to each other and the mission, resourceful under constraints, and having a genuinely good time doing something that matters. We're carefully curated, lean, and wholeheartedly in.

If you want your skills to be at the highest possible stakes, you belong at Anima. Your work here will save lives.

- Shun

NHS organisations need confidence in how Anima handles patient data, manages risk and supports safe care. You’ll build the Assurance function that earns that confidence to bring our technology to more clinicians and patients.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with huge ownership.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has regulatory or compliance experience. Your background could be in insurance, financial services, healthcare or another regulated sector, including consulting or delivering assurance services for clients. Healthcare or NHS experience isn’t required, but you’ll need to learn the context quickly.

  • Gets curious about how products actually work. You’re willing to dig into data flows, integrations and AI model governance, ask good questions and explain what you’ve learned in plain English.

  • Has pragmatic judgement. You can translate requirements into practical action and build processes that are proportionate to the problem.

  • Is confident in front of customers. You can explain complex issues clearly and respond credibly to challenging questions.

  • Builds systems. You've turned fragmented work into reliable processes that others can use.

You’ll need to learn the NHS assurance landscape quickly. Familiarity with data protection, DPIAs, data processing agreements or frameworks would help, but you don’t need to arrive knowing every framework.

What to expect in the role

  • You’ll own customer assurance from first question to resolution. You’ll be the main contact for NHS customers, handling work such as DPIA support packs and security questionnaires. You’ll lead customer conversations and work with our Data Protection Officer on questions requiring specialist input.

  • You’ll become fluent in how our products work. You’ll build enough technical understanding to answer routine assurance questions independently, bringing in Product and Engineering for new or complex issues.

  • You’ll keep our documentation accurate and ready to use. You’ll ensure it reflects how our products operate, including coordinating clinical safety documentation with our Clinical Safety Officer.

  • You’ll build the systems behind the function. You’ll create a self-serve knowledge base, standard answers and onboarding packs, alongside a reliable system for tracking customer agreements, terms and review dates. You’ll use response times, backlog and recurring blockers to identify where improvements will have the greatest impact.

  • You’ll influence how we launch and grow. You’ll work with product teams to address assurance requirements before launch, using customer feedback to highlight gaps.

  • You’ll represent Anima in customer conversations. You’ll help customers understand our approach, resolve concerns and make informed decisions. There’s also scope to represent our assurance work at industry events.

  • You’ll coordinate customer follow-up when incidents occur. Working with the relevant specialists, you’ll keep communications and records organised and ensure lessons learned improve our documentation and processes.

You’ll build a function whose impact reaches across Anima. Success means customers get clear, reliable answers, our teams spend less time resolving the same questions, and assurance is ready when a customer or product launch needs it.
