Job Description

About the Role

The Associate Director, Field Performance is a strategic member of the Customer Engagement leadership team, responsible for optimizing sales force effectiveness and driving operational excellence. This role focuses on translating data-driven insights into actionable recommendations that enhance field performance, support market development, and improve tactical execution.

 

The Associate Director collaborates across Sales Franchises, Key Accounts, Commercial Operations, Insights & Analytics, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between field strategy, messaging, training, and performance measurement.


How You Will Contribute

  • Partner with Sales Operations and leadership to develop and advance field engagement strategies that improve operational efficiency and sales performance.
  • Analyze field and customer data to identify opportunities, develop actionable recommendations, and provide insights that drive business results.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Commercial Operations to plan and execute strategy-driven meetings, training, and initiatives that enhance field effectiveness.
  • Translate insights from Analytics and market intelligence into actionable plans with defined KPIs to optimize field performance.
  • Facilitate and manage quarterly and semi-annual business review processes, ensuring clear reporting and follow-up actions.
  • Gather field intelligence on market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to inform strategy and operational decisions.
  • Provide oversight and project management support for national or regional initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Support the creation and dissemination of standardized processes, tools, and communications to enable consistent execution across the field.
  • Leverage CRM and other systems to interpret data, generate insights, and present findings in an actionable format for field teams.
  • As part of a centralized Field Performance/Commercial Excellence function, may support initiatives across multiple franchises.

Minimum Requirements / Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or related functional experience in the biopharma industry.
  • Strong strategic leadership and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions and manage multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Knowledge of key payors, market trends, and government/advocacy dynamics.
  • Experience creating, planning, and executing initiatives or programs.
  • Proficiency with pharma systems and processes (e.g., CRM, incentive compensation).
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Comfortable with emerging technologies, digital tools, and AI-enabled processes.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MA/MS, PharmD, etc.).
  • Experience leading or developing teams.
  • Experience supporting product launches.
  • Exposure to Managed Markets, Marketing, or broader Commercial functions.

For Location:

Massachusetts - Virtual

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$154,400.00 - $242,550.00


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
