Our client is a growing creative organization focused on producing high-quality creative work through strong strategy, structured execution, and effective collaboration. As the creative function evolves, they are seeking an experienced creative professional to strengthen day-to-day operations, workflows, resource coordination, and project delivery.

Role Overview

The Associate Creative Director will lead the day-to-day operation and execution of the creative function, creating the structure, coordination, and oversight required to turn creative strategy into exceptional work delivered efficiently, consistently, and within established timelines and expectations.

This role will manage creative workflows, coordinate resources, oversee briefs, support creative teams, review deliverables, and ensure projects move smoothly from concept through completion. The Associate Creative Director will partner closely with senior creative leadership to operationalize approved creative strategies, provide tactical creative guidance, and escalate strategic or significant creative decisions when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Operations & Execution Leadership

  • Lead the day-to-day operations and execution of the creative function.

  • Translate approved creative strategies into clear execution plans for creative teams.

  • Ensure creative work is delivered efficiently, consistently, and at a high level of quality.

  • Maintain visibility across active projects, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Identify execution risks, blockers, and missing inputs before they affect delivery.

  • Ensure teams have the clarity, resources, and direction required to execute successfully.

Workflow Management & Project Delivery

  • Own creative workflows, trafficking, assignments, schedules, and delivery processes.

  • Build and maintain systems that improve organization, accountability, and efficiency.

  • Coordinate creative projects from brief through final delivery.

  • Manage timelines and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

  • Develop repeatable and scalable processes that improve creative execution.

  • Partner with account and delivery teams to keep projects moving forward.

Creative Briefs & Quality Oversight

  • Own creative brief readiness and ensure teams have clear direction before execution begins.

  • Translate strategic creative direction into actionable guidance for creative teams.

  • Review creative deliverables for brief alignment, quality, consistency, and executional excellence.

  • Provide first-pass creative reviews and actionable feedback.

  • Identify opportunities to improve executional quality and creative processes.

  • Escalate strategic creative decisions or significant quality concerns when appropriate.

Resource Coordination & Team Support

  • Coordinate internal creative resources and external contractors.

  • Support resource planning, workload management, and creative prioritization.

  • Identify capacity constraints and potential delivery risks.

  • Track creative resource utilization and effort against approved scope and estimates.

  • Flag scope creep, resource overruns, and potential budget risks to senior creative leadership.

  • Provide resource and contractor inputs to support creative scoping and estimating.

  • Prioritize creative work based on established business and client priorities, resource availability, and delivery timelines.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and execution support to creative teams.

  • Ensure teams have the tools, information, and support required to succeed.

Client & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with account teams and internal stakeholders to maintain creative alignment.

  • Support client-related creative processes and project execution.

  • Help ensure creative deliverables meet client expectations and strategic goals.

  • Provide tactical creative recommendations and identify areas requiring senior creative input.

  • Maintain strong communication across creative, account, and operational teams.

Creative Process Improvement & Capability Building

  • Identify opportunities to improve creative systems, tools, and workflows.

  • Help implement new creative processes and methodologies.

  • Create repeatable approaches that improve quality and efficiency.

  • Support the continued evolution of the creative function by operationalizing new tools, processes, methodologies, and ways of working.

  • Contribute ideas that strengthen creative execution and team performance.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in creative leadership, creative operations, design leadership, or a related role.

  • Experience managing creative projects from concept through final delivery.

  • Experience coordinating creative teams, workflows, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Experience working in an agency, studio, or fast-paced creative environment is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of creative strategy and how to translate it into effective execution.

  • Strong creative judgment with the ability to evaluate creative work and provide thoughtful feedback.

  • Ability to balance creative quality with business objectives.

  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities.

  • Experience managing creative briefs, timelines, resources, review processes, and deliverables.

  • Ability to manage multiple creative initiatives, stakeholders, and priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to proactively identify execution risks, bottlenecks, and resource challenges.

  • Comfortable creating structure and scalable processes within a creative environment.

  • Strong collaboration skills across creative and business teams.
