The Application Systems Manager oversees the daily operations, configuration, and support of clinical, administrative, or financial systems across multiple facilities. This role involves managing departmental budgets, staff training, and vendor relationships while ensuring adherence to best practice standards.
Job Description:
The Application Systems Manager is responsible to oversee the day to day operations of a defined set of applications (clinical, administrative, or financial). This includes activities related to the analysis, configuration, testing, support, release, training, and/or implementation of these technologies. Typically these systems are utilized across multiple hospitals, clinics, divisions. This position is responsible to adopt best practice standards that are in line with IS and business strategies.We are committed to offering flexible work options where approved and stated in the job posting. Scope
Directs the operations of the department/function responsible for clinical, administrative, or financial systems
Manages budgets and financial assets to achieve financial objectives.
Oversees human resource management and staff training for the department.
Majority of day to day work is spent managing the work of the team rather that participating in the technical delivery of the work.
Job Essentials
1. Provides technical leadership and direction for department/area and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a group of employees including employee engagement, adoption of best practices, and problem resolution.
2. Accountable to plan and manage the daily operations within the parameters of their departmental operating and capital budgets.
3. Responsible for directing the work of employees for area of accountability, including hiring, goal setting, coaching and mentoring, employee recognition and training, and performance management which includes disciplinary action.
4. Manages customer, stakeholder, and as applicable, vendor relationships and expectations.
5. Regularly communicates with staff and manages resource allocation to projects to ensure timely delivery within budget and according to requirements.
6. Coordinates technical interdependencies, schedules, and business requirements with other project teams and with key business stakeholders.
7. Responsible to provide adequate technical and application(s) specific training opportunities to ensure staff competencies.
8. Ensures that all staff within the department follows Intermountain defined support and service management best practices (e.g. incident, request, problems, change control, etc.).
9. Facilitates the creation and management and measurement of operating and service level agreements for assigned applications.
10. Defines, manages, and monitors application specific metrics as outlined in the SLA, OLA (e.g. incident, request, problems and time to resolution and overall customer satisfaction.
11. Effectively coordinates across IS teams to develop and test solutions and to resolve incidents and problems driving to true root cause analysis and process improvements. Focuses on prevent reoccurrence.
12. Oversees the creation and on-going maintenance of technical support related documentation required to effectively support each application. Facilitates training of staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare or computer technology related field. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Four years experience in healthcare or computer technology related field.
Six years experience configuring, supporting, training, and implementing clinical, financial or administrative systems used in healthcare (hospitals, clinics, insurance, etc.)

Demonstrated strong analysis, problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills.

Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Experience working in a healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
Two years management experience
