Animator (2D & 3D)

What You'll Do

Role Description/Overview:

We are looking for a versatile Animator (2D & 3D) to support the media team in creating animation for our video series and their companion content. Reporting to the Head of Animation, you will work alongside other animators and be trained on our procedures, workflow, and design language, before eventually taking ownership of whole projects. You will also support VFX-related work under guidance when required.

We are especially interested in animators with a strong eye for typography and on-screen text, and who are excited about how AI tools are changing animation. The ideal candidate uses these tools fluently but brings the craft, taste, and fundamentals that turn AI-generated material into polished, distinctive work.

The animator is responsible for maintaining the standards of quality and excellence already in place. This is an excellent growth opportunity for anyone passionate about investing their time and effort into being part of a great team and creating wholesome, beneficial Islamic content.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Typography & Text Animation: Design and animate expressive on-screen text, including titles, intros, quotes, captions, and stylized typography that carries the tone of each series.
• 2D & 3D Animation: Create 2D and 3D animation, including motion graphics, set extensions, maps, and historical environments, working across the 3D pipeline from modelling to lighting, texturing, and rendering.
• AI-Assisted Production: Use AI image and video tools as part of the animation workflow, and refine, composite, and animate their output to a high, consistent standard.
• VFX & Compositing: Create and composite VFX shots that blend seamlessly with live footage.
• Companion Content: Produce animated visuals for short-form and companion content, including digital assets for web features.
• Creative Collaboration: Contribute ideas during ideation and conceptualization, and execute tasks from briefs, feedback, and revisions.
• Quality & Consistency: Follow and extend each series' visual language so all work feels cohesive.

Qualifications/Required Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an animator or motion designer, with work in both 2D and 3D.
• Strong typography and text animation skills, with a portfolio that shows stylistic, high-quality on-screen text.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools for image and video generation, and the judgment to combine them with traditional animation to get a polished result.
• Experience using After Effects for motion graphics and VFX compositing.
• Experience with Maya, Cinema 4D, or Blender to create 3D animations.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Solid grounding in design, typography, composition, and animation fundamentals.
• Proficient written and verbal communication in English.

Technical Requirements:

• A PC/Mac that can run your 3D apps and the latest Adobe apps without issues.
• A reliable and fast internet connection.

Submission Requirements:

In order to have your application approved, please submit examples of your past work, including:

• A 1-2 minute showreel of your animations.
• 5-10 samples of your best work, including at least two examples of text animation or kinetic typography.
• At least one example where AI-generated material was part of your process, with a short note on how you used it.
• A link to your online portfolio.
