What You Will Do

As the Analyst, Inventory Accounting, you will work closely with our team as a key contributor to enhance reporting and process needs of our growing organization, specifically the Inventory Accounting team. You will be involved in a broad range of core accounting and operational responsibilities and experiences, including inventory reconciliation, item cost accounting, and ad hoc projects and analysis related to cost of goods sold. You will support process improvements, enhancing the speed and accuracy of Chomps’ inventory reporting and you will have a seat at the table among management and company leadership, bringing a continuous improvement mentality and helping implement efficiencies and solutions. 

Responsibilities

  • Cost of Goods Sold Accounting: 
    • Assist in the regular reconciliation process of inventory transactions to financial record, ensuring that systematic item costing, values, timing are accurate to actuals to ensure precision of company financials.
    • Perform weekly analyses of inventory costing to assess anomalies and report on any transactional errors and provide corrective action to accounting and operations teams to resolve inaccuracies as needed.
    • Lead regular reconciliation of inventory clearing GL account to resolve transaction errors, identify pricing discrepancies, and provide direction to associated team on how to resolve.
  • Month-End Close Support: 
    • Complete preliminary reviews of inventory reconciliation files to identify discrepancies, providing feedback and any change requests to inventory team as relevant.
    • Assist in monthly final inventory upload process to ensure systematic end of month inventory is accurate for audit purposes.
    • Execute cost reporting functions as part of accounting and financial month end close procedures including owning the monthly journal entry reclass for sample orders to associated department GL account.
    • Attend travel to selection of inventory facilities twice per year to assist in physical counts and review with onsite auditors.
  •  Ad Hoc Projects & Analysis: 
    • Update and maintain tracker for open operations and inventory claims.
    • Provide ongoing SOP and documentation support with new and developing processes.
    • Actively participate in month end close procedures and executive reporting meetings.
    • Conduct ad hoc analysis as needed to support business and financial reviews.
    • Participate in data aggregation process with greater accounting team for annual audit, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or similar field.
  • ~1-3 years of experience in a corporate finance, accounting, operations, or similar setting.
  • Prior experience in inventory-based industry, especially CPG a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong desire to learn and ability to be dynamic and agile in fast-moving environment.
  • Significant attention to detail, intellectually curious, and highly analytical.
  • Ability to manage concurrent responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and deliver results with an ownership mentality.
  • Discipline and accountability in a remote work environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfortability working with large datasets.
  • Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills.

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 + 10% annual bonus
