Advocacy & Membership Officer

Together for Girls works around the world and combines state-of-the-art data with powerful advocacy to end violence against children and adolescents, especially sexual violence. Through data and advocacy, TfG drives action to break cycles of violence and ensure prevention, healing, and justice. By connecting the dots between understanding the problem, identifying effective solutions, tracking progress, and mobilizing for action, TfG creates a synergistic effect that amplifies its impact and drives toward its ultimate goal of creating a safer world for children and adolescents.

Grounded in 19 years of data from the Violence Against Children and Youth Surveys (VACS), which provide a clear picture of the problem, we drive coordinated action through three initiatives that collectively contribute to ending violence against children. The Safe Futures Solutions Hub shares evidence and practice-based knowledge to inform effective prevention and response efforts, ensuring access to proven solutions across sectors. The Brave Movement mobilizes survivors and allies worldwide to drive political will, influence policy, and ensure that inaction is not an option. Finally, the Out of the Shadows Index tracks countries’ progress in addressing violence, providing an accountability framework and benchmark for advocacy. Together, these initiatives form a powerful model that transforms evidence into collective action for prevention, healing, and justice.

Position Overview

The Advocacy & Membership Officer supports the coordination of survivor- and member-centered advocacy engagement across Brave’s global movement. Reporting to the Deputy Director, Campaigns & Advocacy and working closely with the Movement Building team, this role helps ensure members are effectively prepared, supported, and connected to advocacy opportunities aligned with Brave’s strategic priorities. This role serves as a key coordination point between advocacy and membership functions, supporting engagement planning, logistics, communications, and follow-through for advocacy moments ranging from global launches and ministerial meetings to bilateral government engagements and campaign activations. This role is highly collaborative and coordination-focused, ensuring strong alignment, communication, and member support across teams.

Please note, this position is contingent upon the successful receipt of grant funding and may only be filled if funding is secured.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Coordinate Brave member and survivor participation in advocacy opportunities, including launches, ministerial meetings, bilateral government engagements, and beyond.
• Support the development and coordination of advocacy  materials in collaboration with colleagues across the Programs & Advocacy Department, ensuring materials reflect member perspectives and align with strategic priorities.
• Help ensure members engaging in advocacy opportunities are appropriately prepared, briefed, supported, and followed up with before and after engagements.
• Work closely with the Movement Building team to coordinate member participation in advocacy opportunities ensuring identified members, platforms, and representatives are appropriately prepared and supported for engagement. Support alignment between the scale and type of member engagement and broader advocacy priorities and opportunities.
• Contribute to tracking systems for member engagement in advocacy activities, including contacts, commitments, participation, and follow-up actions, to support visibility, reporting, and alignment across teams.
• Ensure timely follow-up with members on advocacy engagements, including documenting outcomes, commitments, and next steps.
• Support reporting processes by capturing inputs and outcomes related to member participation in advocacy activities and key advocacy moments and provide these inputs for donor reporting and broader Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning.
• Coordinate with the Senior Manager, Safeguarding and relevant teams to ensure appropriate safeguarding preparation, briefing, and support for advocacy engagements.
• Liaise with Communications, as needed, to support member-centered advocacy communications and visibility opportunities.
• Work across teams to support advocacy event delivery elements connected to Brave member participation and engagement.
• Maintain organized records, trackers, calendars, and coordination documents related to advocacy engagement activities.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years experience in advocacy coordination, movement-building, membership engagement, campaigns, or nonprofit program coordination
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
• Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, particularly across diverse global audiences and teams
• Experience working with survivor-led, youth-led, or community-based movements, preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to survivor-centered and trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to manage logistics, tracking systems, and follow-through with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a globally distributed, cross-functional team environment
• Alignment with the mission and values of Together for Girls and the Brave Movement
• Fluency in English, required 
• Additional language skills in Spanish and/or French, desired

Location & Ways of Working

This position is a full-time position that can be based in the United Kingdom. Applicants should have work authorization for their preferred location.

This is a remote position with the expectation to travel to attend in-person meetings and events. This position will also require travel up to 25%.

All team members are expected to be available during Together for Girls’ core working hours of 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. The other four hours that the team member chooses to work are flexible and may be coordinated with their supervisor.

Compensation 

This role offers a competitive salary adjusted to the cost of labor in the city where the candidate resides. Final salary within this location adjusted range will also be determined by the candidate’s qualifications and years and type of experience.

• London, United Kingdom will be £50,360 - £57,680
• Manchester, United Kingdom will be £42,330 - £48,840
• All other United Kingdom locations will be  £39,270 - £45,280
