Job Summary

This short-term role provides dedicated coordination, knowledge-management, organizational development, and learning-design support to the Health, Safety and Security Unit (HSSU) for 14.5 months. The role is designed to reduce the operational load on existing HSSU members by building organized, repeatable systems for training delivery, knowledge management, staff learning, communications, and compliance tracking that can outlast the assignment.   • Reorganized and revamped MyCRS HSSU page, subpages, and document resource library
  • Improved and streamlined HSSU training communication, registration, monitoring, and analysis systems
  • Asynchronous training courses, onboarding resources, and development portfolio for HSS staff and key leaders 
  • Established or strengthened global internal HSS community of practice and webinar coordination processes
  • Dashboards, back-end tracking, templates, and standardized tools to support compliance, travel, communications, and reporting
  • Final summary of systems, improvements, and sustainability recommendations for HSSU and KML leads

Roles and Key Responsibilities

  • Reorganizes, revamps, and maintains HSSU knowledge assets, including MyCRS pages, country security subpages, document libraries, templates, and standardized tools
  • Builds and improves digital systems, search/access options, automation, and process flows that reduce manual effort across HSSU
  • Coordinates HSSU learning delivery, including Safe & Sound, APST, ComPsych, all-agency webinars, regionally or locally tailored sessions, and external presenter readiness
  • Develops asynchronous training modules, onboarding resources, and learning pathways for professional HSS staff, key staff, managers, and leadership roles
  • Reviews and improves travel-risk, training compliance, post status determination, device tracking, road safety, vehicle collision, first aid, and minimum operating standards tracking processes
  • Supports HSS communications, quarterly and annual reporting design, Duty of Care mapping, community-of-practice set-up, and organizational development approaches that strengthen CRS’ internal HSS culture
  • Documents improvements, creates sustainability recommendations, and coordinates with HSSU, KML, external presenters, regions, and country programs as needed

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to think analytically and act methodically
  • Strong writing skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly (including commenting and editing writing of not native English speakers)
  • Strong communication skills (Email and Skype) in remote environment and ability to get things done in a matrix environment
  • Strong sense of customer care and service

Required Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Travel: Remote, with some potential travel
