The Actuarial Analyst will organize and investigate healthcare data to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies. They will collaborate with management to develop reports, build models, and suggest improvements to increase healthcare quality and reduce costs.
Position Summary
The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for organizing, analyzing, and investigating Healthmap Solutions data.
Responsibilities
- Compile and organize healthcare data
- Analyze data to assist in developing optimal care management and decision making
- Use healthcare data to assist in administrative and operational goals
- Investigate data to find patterns and trends
- Utilize different data sources for analysis
- Develop reports and presentations
- Communicate analytics insights to management
- Build Models and analyzing data to unearth trends and patterns
- Delve into data to discover discrepancies and patterns
- Suggest ways to both increase healthcare quality and lower costs
- Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Finance, Management information systems or other related focus
- A minimum of 1-3 years of recent experience in: Excel (Visualization, Pivot Tables, Summarizing), Database manipulation in SQL (Updates, Joins, Data types), Financial Analysis (Trending vs. Actual), Working with Project Managers and Technical Groups
- Prior experience with large data
- Prior experience with healthcare data within health plan or vendor environment
Skills
- Familiarity with Health Plan financial data, PMPM, Per Thousand, Enrollment
