Job Overview

The Accounting Assistant will support the Finance department across various accounting functions, helping ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of financial information. This role will contribute to general accounting activities, including bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance. Additionally, the Accounting Assistant will provide support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Treasury, and other finance-related activities as needed to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting.
• Support the Finance department in the different accounting areas: Bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, financial reporting & compliance
• Support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Treasury and other activities as needed.

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related Field.
• Experience working in companies operating under Free Trade Zone regulations
• Advanced knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of IFRS (NIIF) and IAS (NIC) standards.
• Knowledge of Costa Rican tax regulations and local accounting requirements.
• Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, formulas, and reporting.
• English Proficiency. B2+

Desired

• Licentiate's Degree in Accounting or related Field
• Familiarity with Costa Rican electronic invoicing requirements and Value Added Tax (VAT) regulations.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (preferred).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, formulas, and reporting.
• English Proficenciy. C1
