Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our growing team!

The Accounting Analyst ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Enter, balance, and post all daily cash, ACH, check, and credit card deposits.

  • Generate and send out customer requests for information including follow-up requests

  • Review and process Customer files.

  • Generate and send out customer invoices.

  • Generate age analysis; review AR aging to ensure compliance.

  • Follow up with customers regarding open balances, via account statements and payment reminders.

  • Perform new customer credit checks and establish customer payment terms.

  • Support month-end and year-end close process.

  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, resolving discrepancies.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • BS degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)

  • 2+ years corporate accounting experience in a relevant industry

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures

  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Awareness of business trends

  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

  • Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including SUMIF’s and VLOOKUP’s
