About the Role:

The Sales Specialist II role represents an intermediate-level specialized sales position responsible for managing complex product sales and developing deep expertise in specific market segments while driving revenue growth through specialized knowledge and consultative selling approaches. This role requires proven sales experience and the ability to serve as a subject matter expert while supporting strategic sales initiatives and customer engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for specialized product lines or vertical market segments
  • Lead complex product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and industry influencers within specialty areas
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to influence product roadmap and feature development
  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence gathering within assigned specialty areas
  • Support development of specialized sales strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Lead participation in industry conferences, trade shows, and professional association events
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to specialized training and development programs
  • Develop specialized sales materials, case studies, and technical documentation
  • Support pricing strategies and proposal development for complex specialized solutions
  • Coordinate with customer success teams to ensure optimal implementation and customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to thought leadership activities including webinars, white papers, and industry publications

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical or business field; advanced degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of sales or technical experience in related industry or market segment
  • Demonstrated expertise in specialized product areas or vertical market segments
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building customer relationships
  • Strong technical aptitude with ability to understand and communicate complex product features
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with experience conducting technical demonstrations
  • Advanced proficiency with CRM systems and sales automation tools
  • Understanding of consultative selling methodologies and solution-based sales approaches
  • Leadership potential with experience mentoring or training junior team members
  • Industry knowledge with established network of contacts and relationships
  • Analytical skills with ability to interpret market data and customer usage patterns
  • Ability to travel frequently for customer meetings and industry events
